Works great with SDR and rtl_433
Sends out 433mhz temp/humidity/batt-level signal that's easily decoded by rtl_433. Device has hardcoded (random) house number (mine didn't appear to change when batteries were changed), and switch selectable ID (1,2,3 or 4) so you can have multiple devices and tell which is which. Battery life seems good. Range is about 30-50ft through multiple thick walls/steel siding but depends on radio noise/interference as 433mhz can be busy.

accurate and easy to connect but don't sit it in direct sun!
It is accurate and easy to connect but don't sit it in direct sun! I put it on top of a fence post temporarily to connect it and when it did it read 107. Entirely my fault and now it reads similar to other in the area so accuracy is no problem. It simply connects by restarting the little box on the wifi and it showed right up.

Two month review:. Good value for eight readings, decent accuracy, easy to set up
I liked the initial kit enough to buy another 5 transmitters to max out the units capacity to a total of 8. (each transmitter sends out both temperature and relative humidity readings). I found the transmitters to all be reasonably consistent and accurate when calibrated with a trusted thermometer and a salt chamber for verifying the RH readings. You can even fine tune each reading on the central display to compensate for any calibration errors if necessary. Mostly I wanted the transmitters to monitor the performance of a multi chambered root cellar, but I also use it for monitoring the efficiency of my HRV system for interior air quality. I live in an ICF house with a lot of concrete walls blocking the signal from the transmitter to the central display. I did finally find a location in the house that could get a signal from all the transmitters. Dont expect much more than 30 feet distance if the signal has to pass through concrete walls and floors. The transmitters work fine from inside a PVC pipe but not at all from inside a metal pipe. Note: only three transmitter displays are fixed. The fourth readout on the central display can be set to continuously scroll through the other 5 transmitters. Each transmitter takes two batteries, so factor in that cost when buying multiple extra transmitters. I think it is a pretty good value for those looking to remotely monitor multiple locations for temperature and relative humidity.

Can see 3 sensors plus the indoor information at the same time.
Use to track Basement humidity where we have a dehumidifier and outdoor temperature and humidity

Additional sensor for my existing system
I compare the sensor when I get them - put them side by side for an hour and compare temp and humidity All four of the originals were well within spec. After three years on failed and I bought this replacement. The first one was fine in temp, but the humidity was WAY off. I returned and the replacement is as good as the originals. Thank You Amazon for the replacement.

Temp Sensors goes whacky
I have 8 of these for my weather station. At first they all worked as you would expect. Over time two failed so I bought (2) more. The temp readings drift WAY high. Its obvious they are malfunctioning because the temps are 20 to 50 degrees too high. Recently I had another one go bad. The third one to fail was in a garage, no sunlight, no rain, no extreme temps or humidity. Changing batteries does not reset them. They do have great range. I have one in a travel trailer 130 feet from the base station. another one in my workshop 120 feet away. They don't eat batteries either. Too bad they go whacky.

so far, great!
im using this in my solar heated jacuzzi to save me walking out and back to see when to turn off the pump. a strictly manual system.it was less of an issue before my back problems made walking so unfun.i took Ambient's advice and went with this, rather than their pool float sender. i had read many reviews of several makes (including theirs) that pointed to problems with leaking at gaskets. and while Ambient's seemed to deal with it best w/ their double gasketing, mixing electrons (regardless of voltage) with water always plays havoc with electronic devices. this device solves the problem completely.im still contemplating where and how to place it to protect it from rain. it hasnt rained since long before i got it and i still havent seen info about how well this sender tolerates dampness.another complaint with all floating senders is number of batteries required. this unit only requires only 2 AAA. half as many. i havent had it long enough to know how long they will last.my only negative, which relates to my desert environment, is that the wires had been chewed off during the night (most likely by a rat.) i hear they like wiring insulation made of soy protein but who knows? i dont know what material this is anyway. my solution was to run the wire thru an additional conduit. i would have preferred a longer run of wire and may try to cobble something together.im extremely pleased to have this sending me tested accurate information (within a degree) and saving me the steps to get it since therapy was the whole notion anyway.so thanks Ambient Weather!

Used in a wineador
Works as advertised. when calibrating, all sensors were within 2% and 1 degree. Alarm function is hit and miss - alarms randomly going off during the night.

Unreliable.
Second additional purchase. Expensive and unreliable. Buy Something else.
