They are good quality, detailed and well made. For hair they are very heavy and ‘slick’ surface. Slide out easily. Kept them because they are so cute!!

The cats are molded on, not welded. Its also a solid metal that doesn't bend under pressure. The ends are not too pointy but rounded so they don't stick your scalp or break you hair. Plus the cat shape is recognizable from the back as well as the front. They seem to be a pair of perfect hair pins

They’re really top-heavy. I don’t know what they’re made of but they’re certainly durable based on that alone. Like they could practically be a weapon if you know what you’re doing. It does make it a little difficult to keep the cat upright or at the top when it wants to swing downward. If you have a lot of hair to hold it in place, it’s less of a problem.
