Excellent quality
I had to replace the original jar in my Vitamix 5000 (date stamp was September 1997). I ordered this product and it is just as good if not better than the original. Identical in every dimension to the original. I saw a couple of reviews with people complaining about quality so I was a bit leery of ordering this but I'm 100% satisfied. I had already replace the blade assembly last year so it was simple to swap that into the new jar, old lid fit perfectly. This appears to be an OEM replacement part at half the cost of what Vitamix Canada is trying to charge!

Great Replacement Container
Great container. We've had our Vita-Mix since 1999 and use this thing almost every day. So, it was no surprise that the container was starting to show signs of wear and tear, but the bottom had cracked, more my fault than that of the container. So, when I saw that I could order just the container, I was thrilled. Buying a new one with all the blades and lid was a lot of money, this was such a savings. It is like stepping back in time, it's the same container, same size, everything fits in it, blades and lid, and it does not leak. I love that I can fill it to the 5-cup level with really hot water, a drop of dish soap and this thing practically cleans itself...you've got to love that.
