Gaddafi's "The Green Book"

This book outlines Gaddafi's ideology and effectively critiques the modern idea of democracy, wage labour, as well as touching on social issues (women, families and sports etc.) He uses simple yet strong examples to push his point across, in all honesty it's a fascinating book to follow, it conveys many powerful positions that Gaddafi held. Would highly recommend!

Bought as gift informative

This is a book giving Col Gaddafi's views on economics, democracy and society. Would be buyers do note that this is a short book! Only 106 pages long. Gaddafi writes wells and gets to the point. This is not a long, tedious read. On the contrary, it is always interesting. Gaddafi offers many insights into current trends, such as the immigration crisis. He does not offer any thoughts on the ecological crisis, which is a pity. Nonetheless, his remarks on the status of women, the value of sports, employment, democracy are stimulating. It is a pity that this man ended up being murdered by enraged and baying mobs, with the West contributing to his downfall. Gaddafi actually did much to engage the West and became less confrontational towards the end of his life. He deserves to be read more widely. He was not as inimical to the West as commonly believed and I for one thoroughly enjoyed reading his book, even while disagreeing with some of the content

Surprisingly good. Gaddafi had some great outlooks on alot of topics, particularly his view on womens rights sticks in mind and how he views men and women as equals, yet as different. I thought he made a lot of sense on a range of subjects.

A classic....

Wow. Overall just wow. Some bits a bit questionable but generally a great concept for a very different society. Very difficult to marry the contents of the book with the reputation of its author. An interesting read and thought provoking.

Interesting overview of the man's political ideas.

I knew that the Libyan "civil war" wasn't all it seemed, and that Gaddafi was not as bad as the media in the West had portrayed him, but even then I brought his 'Green Book' not really knowing what to expect. I was surprised to find myself agreeing with the vast majority of the ideas that he puts forward here, far from overly complicated nonsense, much of what he said was just common sense.
