Clever and sturdy
This is my fourth laptop/TV tray table in the last decade or so, and I think it may be the last one I ever own, it's so well-made. My first two were broken by accident and the third had a plastic part fail.I didn't find it difficult to assemble but it is definitely not as straightforward as other home-assembly furniture. The tabletop incline/hinge mechanism attaches in an interesting way, and the pieces that hold the leg together are a tight fit.The table surface is quite roomy. It seems to be made out of wood that has been fully encased in plastic, so I'm not at all worried about it getting wet. The top has a subtly textured surface, and the feet of my laptop case grip it well when I have it inclined, plus it keeps light objects from sliding down. The incline mechanism is clever, easy to operate (but it does require both hands), and the parts that hold the table top up are made of sturdy metal. There is a tablet slot on the far edge and a lip on the near edge. It's extremely well designed, and the only change I might make would be to make the top out of metal so my magnetic phone case could stick to it when it's inclined - my last tray table had a metal top and I miss it. The cup holder is larger than on my previous two tray tables, but it seems like a potential weak point, as it's attached with a single screw and heavy beverages seem unstable in it. It's the only part I expect to eventually fail. The single-piece leg is a strong and elegant curve of metal that accommodates a small foot rest beneath it. Those little collapsible ottoman cubes you see all over Amazon are a perfect fit; I love being able to sit at this tray table with my feet up. The height adjustment can be a bit sticky, but I mostly keep it at the same height. The underside has small plastic sliders that don't scratch floors. It was 2-3x more than I spent on my previous table trays, but it's also much better quality. It was worth every penny and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Terrific, reliable convenience!!
This is incredibly sturdy: a lightweight, well-designed bedside tray table or typing table that stays put but still slides easily when you want to shift it around. Easy to put together, pleasingly simple to look at, brilliantly useful. This is not your basic put-together furniture -- it's extremely strong and reliable. Works well as a bedside table during the day or at night, but also easy to turn around in front of a chair for meals. Could even adjust its height upwards and then pull the unit backwards over the side of a bed for eating small amounts while in bed if desired. Caution: do wipe up any spills quickly if you can. A small amount of spilled orange juice, neglected overnight, will be with us forever in a freeform design on the top a la Jason Pollock, but the tray table is so useful that we don't even mind! If you have a similar experience, either park a fabric placemat on the tray top if you want to hide it, or just love the unit anyway for its convenience and sturdiness as we do!

GREAT table, needs dexterity to assemble.
This table is stable and secure. I bought it to eat dinner in front if the TV and it's perfect. It even has a lip to prevent the tray from sliding.Height adjustment is easy and secure, and it tilts for use with a laptop or tablet. However, I deduct one star because of two (2) real disadvantages:(1) ASSEMBLY. I suspect that many people buy this table to eat on. and many of those people will be elderly, like me. I've always been pretty good at assembling things but now, like a lot of older people, I lack dexterity. Inserting the two screws that hold the mechanism together, drove me nuts. These are not self-tapping screws into plastic or wood - they are good machine screws and require precision. If you're old or not mechanically inclined, I seriously advise you to have someone younger help you.(2) FOLDING. Unlike many of the tables out there, this one does NOT fold. So beware - you can slip the foot under a piece of furniture for storage, but the table top will remain horizontal.

Homework Table!
I love this desk tray! It really is super sturdy! I love being able to sit at my couch and change the height levels and work on my college homework! Often I need to work near my children so where they go, I go and this desk tray is perfect and easy to lift and move around! Couches are all different seating heights and this tray table is easy to change levels! Beats any other wobbly tv tray! It also has the right amount of space for a laptop coffee and to take notes.

Sturdy, Versatile, Worth It!
Fantastic buy! Yes, I'm using this as a glorified TV tray right now, but worth it because I know I can pivot and use this anytime as a working desk surface. Very sturdy, adjustable for height and surface angle tilt, and it's rated to hold the weight as advertised, so NOT a flimsy item. Well worth the price as it's an investment with many uses. Cupholder not important to me but for others, know that it's shallow and I would not trust a tall drinking cup or bottle; it pivots to go under the surface when not in use. There's a angled slot on one side to use for a tablet, but hubby uses as phone holder so doesn't take up surface space. Other 3 sides of surface has a small raised edge to keep things from slipping off the side. Surface is a faux leather feel, easy cleaning. Legs are metal so magnets will work on them (hubby uses to hold magnetic charging wire). Love this!!!

Simple, functional
Takes care of purpose. Simply made, but not flimsy like I was concerned it might be. Bought to aid my husband during his shoulder surgery recovery to have a sofa table on his non-surgical side.

The best and best looking tray tables!
I bought two trays in black-love them!!! A bit pricey but absolutely worth it! The look is sleek and modern, and they are very sturdy with features that work for more activities than eating. The directions and tool included are definitely needed for assembly, but make it easy. Highly recommend!
