Tasty
Such a tasty tea. I use more than is suggested by the nutrition label, so I’m not getting anywhere near 50 servings out of this bag. Packaging is great, resealable. This is my first bag so I can’t say how effective it is but I love the way it tastes.

Definitely not Ashitaba
This is not Ashitaba. It doesn’t smell or taste like ashitaba. It’s just random ground green stuff.

Something new
I learned that Japanese people use this in their foods and it’s use to aid in overall health.

Fresh
I wasn't previously familiar with this plant but seems it's a carrot and celery relative that's been used as a vegetable in Japan for about 2000 years, and in Japanese folk medicine for about the last 400. Flavorwise it tastes like an earthy spinach powder. And it is definitely fresh. Even though I don't have much knowledge of this plant, when an herb powder is vivid in color, fragrant, and flavorful, you can bet it's fresh. The freshness and this being a product of Japan gives me some confidence. Per the package suggestions, I've just been adding a little to my smoothies as a general green rich in micronutrients.
