nice little grill
This Grill literally cost 3 times the cost of my last grill. It better be great. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, so here is a preliminary review for preliminary folk. UNPACKING: This thing was packed... I don't even have words for how it was packed. It was like a tightly compacted cardboard singularity. The packing material literally filled up my recycle can. I'm saying that it was packed quite well, as if it were a precious jigsaw puzzle that needed to be protected. Which is kind of what it was. ASSEMBLY: Lots of folks say it took 2 hours to assemble or some other amount. So I'm not gonna say that. Assembly was not complex. The most difficult part was identifying the various pieces. There are a lot of bolts and washers, and by a lot I mean a lot. In the end, everything fit together like it was supposed to and I've been grilling ever since. QUALITY: This thing is built like a tank. It's not cheaply made, and one can tell that effort has been made to achieve quality both in the instructions and the manufacturing tolerances. After I completed the assembly, I turned it on. Everything worked like it was supposed to. I was satisfied. And more than a little surprised. The friend who recommended this device to me made sure to tell me that, like almost every other grill, I would still encounter flare ups as grease from the cooking ingredients drip down on the flames. This turned out to be true. But no more or less than any other grill I've owned. It has not been a problem. SUMMARY: I like the grill and look forward to using it. I feel that the hood does a great job keeping the smoke and heat in. Best of all, it starts each and every time with the 1st push of the electronic starter. Outstanding. Compared to the 15 year old grill I'd been using recently, this 2 burner grill works like a dream. Walk out to my backyard, press a button, and I'm grilling. The only 2 critical comments I have are that 1, it's pretty darn expensive for a little grill, and 2, I didn't enjoy the assembly. It was just long and involved. But not difficult. I've owned a couple of nice Weber grills in my life. I think this will be another one.

Well engineered and constructed
This is an excellent grill, especially for the price and considering that it is on the low end of the Weber line. I give it 5 stars in every category. I'll talk about the assembly process first because many people report having trouble putting the grill together. I am an automotive service technician at a car dealership and have better than average mechanical skills. The cars I work on are orders of magnitude more complex than a gas grill, and assembling this grill was a breeze. First, get yourself a powered screwdriver or screw gun with a torque-limiting clutch. If you don’t have one, borrow or buy one. There are around 40 screws that you will need to install and tighten, and doing it by hand will be tedious and time consuming. Also, someone mentioned getting a cut from a sharp edge. The edges of the metal are indeed sharp, so be careful handling the parts. Weber should have done a better job of de-burring the edges. Some reviewers reported having difficulty getting the screws started because the holes didn't line up. This is absolutely not the case, the build quality and manufacturing tolerances are excellent, and everything lines up perfectly. Where some people run into trouble is that they tighten each screw as they install them. Doing this will make assembly difficult or impossible. It is very important to start all screws by hand and leave them loose until all are installed. I cannot emphasize this enough, tightening the screws should be the very last thing you do when assembling the grill. This should be stated in the instructions, but it is not. Leaving them loose during assembly allows the parts to shift a little so the holes can be lined up. All screws and small hardware are packaged in bags labeled A through F, and the instructions indicate which bag to use. I initially thought they had shorted me some screws, the instructions were calling for screws from the A bag, which were all used up. I robbed screws from the C bag to complete the assembly, and in the end I had a screw, a washer and a cotter pin left over. Some reported finding the legs bent when they were unpacked. One of the legs on mine was slightly bent, but the steel is light-gauge and I was able to straighten the leg by hand and with no tools. It took me about an hour and a half to complete the assembly, using a helper to place the cover on the grill and install the hinge pins. It could be done by one person, but having a helper for this step makes the process easier. The assembly instructions are almost entirely pictorial, with very little text. I usually don’t like this, but the drawings are clear and very detailed. If you follow the steps listed in the instructions in order, you will have no problems. I attached a tank of LP, checked for leaks (very important!) and fired it up. Light the left burner first, the right burner lights from the left one. The grill reached 600 degrees in about 10 minutes on a hot July day. I haven’t cooked anything yet, but the grill appears to work fine and I expect good results. Another excellent product from Weber!

Great grill!!
This is one nice grill. We wanted a two-burner since we it is only us mostly and it is large enough for the occasional dinner party. It heats up extremely fast. It is Weber sturdy and high quality through out. It should last a long time. It took me over two hours to assemble. Finding the right screw in the bag sometimes took some extra attention. The instructions were easy to use and the BILT app I down loaded was specific for this model with 3D movable pics of all the assembly step by step. That was really nice! It came packaged like an incredible Chinese wood puzzle. Amazing how they got all the parts in the least space possible. The package was heavy! Definitely a two man lift or a hand truck where it was still heavy to put on its side to use the truck. It is easy to roll around after assembly though. The only issue I had with assembly was I put the AA battery in backwards so the spark didn't work. The burners are easy to adjust. It heats up much faster than any grill we have every had. We like the disposable tin grease trap at the bottom. It's easy to replace. I bought non-Weber grease pans for a lot less. The instructions a very good. The Weber website has a lot of tips and other goodies and worth the time to review. Very, very happy with this grill.

best bottom line weber
Cons: Assembly! in my hardware store days i’ve built about 350 grills, from the worst (T- - - -) to the best (Weber). I’ve had to create parts, drill & tap holes, add entire sets of bolts (missing or wrong sizes/threads) Weber’s assembly instructions are pretty good: (iphone/android app called “BILT”). and the provided parts fit and align well. I didn’t try the printed directions. First, the package seemed ok, no obvious damage, but the control panel’s plastic screw tabs were shattered.. But nobody cares, cause the metal face screws onto the sturdy valve body below the knobs. But, sloppy shipping or packing. Second, there are two “H” frame leg parts. One of those H uprights was folded/curled into itself.. I had to re-form it with jumbo pliers and tapered wood blocks. The leg extension for the wheel axle would not tuck inside the crushed leg until i reshaped the part to fit. Poor shipping or packing. The unit must have been dropped. Weber can blame the seller and the seller can blame Weber. Then, because of that subtle change, other shapes and parts were out of alignment. Nobody could be blamed if they sent it back to amazon or bought another brand, maybe. I’ve assembled so many grills and this was just another round in the nightmare land of grill assembly. Nobody likes building them. It’s all assembled and working fine. Nobody will notice the deformed leg, down there on the right side. The spirit ii model 210 is a fine grill. Weber’s 10 year warranty ‘might’ be useful- MOST grills last 3-5 seasons, Most Webers live longer than that. One nice detail: Weber adds a little bug screen on the venturi tubes that feed the burners. Spiders, etc nest in those tubes & it can cause fires or at least make the grill fail to light. Some very fancy-brand grills omit this simple little bit of bug screen. Heat, salt & grease fires take a huge toll on any grill.. Weber’s steep slope bottom and heat shielded grease pit will likely prevent most grease fires, but you still need to check that grease and clean the grill out if you cook lots of chicken. This grill is easy to clean with easy-to- remove grills, radiating plates (these shield the burners) and grease trap. All grills are functional and pretty for the first year. The best stainless steel turns into rusty trash when it’s overheated. Enameled steel turns into rusty peeling trash soon enough, too. My last grill had cast bronze burners! Woohoo! the rusted trash that held up those burners gave out in 5 years. The burners looked good though! Weber shields their burners and reduces the chance of grease fires, as mentioned above.

Took my time, but assembly was pretty easy & flawless performance in early BBQ’ing tests!
Cashed in my Fathers Day gift cards & purchased the Weber Spirit II. Was in the middle of packing for a move but decided to assemble myself. Read several reviews & was encouraged by positive comments about instruction book. All true, instructions were mostly very clear & easy to follow. Did reach one point where 2 bolt holes didn’t line up exactly, but after a few minutes of deliberation, loosened a couple of surrounding bolts that I had already tightened up & bolt holes magically then lined up. Give yourself plenty of room to spread parts out, and lots of cardboard boxes containing parts. Took my time in 3 one hour sessions separated by other moving chores over several days, so wouldn’t recommend rushing assembly. But all came together nicely to produce a very nice BBQ pit that’s perfect for just my wife & I. Fired it up on first cooking effort & cooked some hamburgers to perfection. Even ran last of propane out of old tank so got to replace and see how complicated this process would be. But it was very easy and really like the tank gauge on side of new pit, I was using an old screw on type of dial gauge that never seemed very accurate about what was left in the tank on the old pit. So, have now used the pit 3 times and am very pleased with quality & performance. I look forward to a long happy relationship with this little beauty, thanks Amazon & Weber!

Love My Weber Grill - get one!
First I always thought spending a lot on a grill was a waste of money...Weber grills are pricey! But I am learning now they are worth every penny. I have had many different non-weber grills in the past and eventually, all burners rust out, ignitor fails, grates rust, etc. This Weber grill is the best grill I've ever owned. It heats up quickly and temp controls with temp gauge works great. The design with one folding shelf, large wheels and tank hanger with volume measuring scale, is very functional, easy to clean, easy to move and store in shed for winter. I cook everything i can on the grill in the heat of the summer. the Weber basic cooking instructions have changed my grilling game. everything comes out perfectly cooked, and have found some new fun options to grill with the Weber recipes. It took me 2 hours to assemble via their pictures only instructions document (it might be helpful to have a few words included to clarify some parts). It might have been slightly faster with a second person, but not really required if you are even slightly mechanically handy. I Highly recomend getting a Weber for your first and only grill or when it's time to replace your current grill. I LOVE MY WEBER!

Worth the investment, great quality
I went from a small charcoal grill to this, and I'm so happy I invested in the quality brand. I was trying to decide if I should just splurge on something I know I can trust, or try to be happy with one of the budget-frinedly-friendly competitors, and this was the right decision. I was impressed by how easy it was to assemble. The directions say to have two people, however I did it myself, and it didn't take long at all. The construction is of great quality. It's easy to use and reliable in the results. Yep, this is the grill! Easy to clean, too. I bought the fitted Weber cover, and it's durable and well-made, which is not a surprise!

People bring me their meat to grill!
Best Purchase of the year. We have always loved to grill. But for the last few years we have been in college and didn’t have a grill in our apartment. When my wife and I bought our home in December we knew it was an opportunity to get a grill sometime in the future. We got it just before Mother’s Day and the day we got it I spent about an hour and a half putting it together. It was extremely easy with the directions included in the packaging. We use the grill as much as we can to combat heating up our house in the summer and we will use it year round for sure even in the snow that’s how awesome the grill is. This grill has the perfect amount of flame. It will give you a wonderful char on any steak, great grill marks on burgers and chicken. It has great flow so after you get your char you can turn the heat down and cook things quickly as the heat stays in your grill well. It’s easy to clean. It took me about 15 minutes this morning to clean everything on the grill, the racks are awesome and quickly clean with little residue left over, removing the grease tray is simple and quick. People love the way their meat tastes coming off this grill I put salt, pepper, garlic powder and some steak salt on our steaks and people can’t get enough. It’s not like I’m using some secret recipe it’s the quality of the grill. Buy one today!!
