SocketScan S700, 1D Imager Barcode Scanner, Red (Renewed)

Purchased this renewed scanner a few months ago and it's working very well. Works as good as the $209 brand new one on the other POS station. I've bought a few Amazon refurbished items and I have been pleased with each product. Will buy renewed again for sure and save some money.

1. This is a refurbed unit that functions at described but was delivered with a cracked housing and a lease that was dirty on the inside, not possible to clean. Im hoping it will hold up. Disappointed it was shipped as “re-new”.2. Note that the scanner is mediocre even if new. It has a difficult time reading bar codes in direct sunlight. If the barcode has a shiny plastic coating or a light haze it really struggles. Bottom line this scanner is very frustrating to use. I find myself resorting to manual entry 50% of the time. Unfortunately the inventory software Im required to use specifies this scanner so I have no choice.

From the reviews I expected the unit to work. When I received it, you can tell it had some hard use. The underneath rubber part of the unit was sticky to the touch. It was hot after charging and the Bluetooth indicator light did not work. It’s almost like they really didn’t do anything to refurbish the used unit. Just be wise about your selection and be sure you can return your item with no hassles.

Barcode scanner works perfectly like it should and much more affordable then other places.

Bought from Amazon Renewed. Eight months later, it will no longer charge or stay connected, even with batteries replaced. Very expensive piece of plastic that no longer works. :(

Scanner set up was vague but eventually was a success. Works well so far.

This item doesn't work. It does not scan. We will be returning it

Works exactly as expected. Ordered red but got blue. Overall it's ok.
