Very ready to install and program, took very little time. Been running for several weeks now without incident, and overriding the programmed settings to backward and vacuum is a breeze. Could be quieter at speeds higher than 1600 rpm, but that’s a very subjective thing to each person. Whisper quiet at lower speeds. Warranty is your typical junk: “qualified electrician”.

Just quit with a fault. Every one I talked to said after 12 months you are on your own. Wouldn't work with me at all. Took it to a pool store that took it apart (I thought it was bearings) and we could see the big magnet broke in several places. No water inside. Going to try Black and Decker with a much better warranty.

I refit a PacFab Challenger pump with this motor. It seems to operate very well - and very quietly. My only comment is that its programming features are a bit simplistic - the ability to switch between two different program schedules would be very useful. You can, however, interface this motor controller with a separate digital control system, which I have not done.

Replacement was easy and took a dolt like me about 45 minutes to swap out my single speed motor for this one. I have a circuit meter so I can see exactly how much electricity is used and a couple years of logged data. Switching to this pump reduces my electric bill by $35 a month!Even at full speed, which pumps more than my old motor, it still runs at only a third of the wattage.The controls are very simplistic, but there is also an automation connection that is compatible with Arduino microcontrollers with a little but of conversion. You can use a microcontroller to run any schedule you want with the three speeds you set.If I had to complain about something, it would be that you can only set three speeds for the automation. It would be nice to allow the microcontroller to set the speed directly instead of calling speed 1, 2, and 3. Though if you wanted to, you could bypass the board and interface with the motor's speed control if you really wanted that much control.The speeds are flexible and it allows me to keep a very small circulation force going 24 hours a day for around 30 watts and a main cleaning force around 485 watts.

couldn't have worked-out better. easy to install and absolutely no problems. an affordable alternative to a variable speed pump...just swap-out the motor.

Only had the pool motor since August of 2021 and it completely stopped working. Positive Pool Wholesale does not offer a extended warranty for this item. Positive Pool Wholesale refused to give a refund, they will only send you another pool motor that could have the same issue.
