Intrinsically safe. Was what I was looking for at a good price.
Good price for intrinsically safe flase lights. Does not come with batteries

Intrinsically Safe and Inexpensive
Nothing special about this flashlight. Low lumens output. The positive and point to purchasing these lights was due to the fact that they are intrinsically safe. I purchased seven of these to put in our propane delivery trucks and service trucks. If we get into a situation where propane is in the atmosphere we need a flashlight that is sealed and won't spark thus setting off a fire. These are good everyday lights or a good standby for when you know you are walking into a dangerous situation.

Excellent quality
Excellent flashlight for one who may knock it to the floor or drop it.

No power regulation, brightness drops fast
First, be aware this is currently different from the picture. It is now a single board-mount LED of pretty decent quality, but no power regulation.Current official specs are 150 lumens for 12 hours, but with no regulator it drops to about 50 lumens after about 30 minutes of use and it continues to decline after that. The standardized "FL-1" ratings boxes you see on packages allow manufacturers to present initial brightness next to how long it runs at more than 10% of that. So a flashlight which drops from 150 lumens to 50 almost immediately can claim 12 hours running time as long as it takes another 11.5 hours as it slowly declines to 15 lumens. That was a horrible thing to implement as a standard, and this flashlight is one of the many which abuse it.Using alkaline AAs which currently measure 1.4 volts (plenty of power left to run a good flashlight), this thing already looks like what you would expect with nearly-dead batteries. If you actually want 150 lumens (or a large portion of that), you will be replacing these batteries about 3 times as often as a well-made flashlight.Rechargeable NiMH batteries do not work well. Because it's so sensitive to voltage drop, fully charged NiMH cells, which are about 1.4v, already look low.So while the LED is better quality (not all bluish) than those dirt-cheap generic lights, it's the same direct-drive garbage. If you really need the official safety rating, get something better. The low price here will vanish in less than a month due to frequent battery changes if you use it daily.

Junk. Waste of money. Don't get fooled by the "inrinsically safe" label.
This light didn't work from the beginning. After looking inside I noticed the batteries are not centered in the body because of the switch position. Bad engineering. Everything is very cheap. The strap is a thin cheap nylon with a little plastic cap. I doesn't show the small screw it has holding the the front cap on (to pass certifications). It is "screwed" into a flimsy bent piece of plastic that doesn't hold and is out of alignment with the tight setting. The O-ring on the battery side cap had white plastic stuck to part of it when I inserted the batteries. Intrinsically safe? This thing is a disaster. For $15 the flashlights nowadays are incredible. This is just a cheap waterproof (barely) flashlight with a screw holding the front. I am going to get a good waterproof flashlight. I don't need the screw lock to know it's closed.

you'll never find an intrinsically safe flashlight better.
For the price, you'll never find an intrinsically safe flashlight better.

Good flashlight
This is not quite as bright as I thought it would be, but it is lightweight and good enough to take the dogs out at night.
