Apple Smart Keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro Tablet (MJYR2LL/A)

Exceptionally easy to assemble. Great addition to the apple tablet. Our only wish is that the keyboard would light up.

It's a keyboard cover, and a mediocre one at that. In the near future, I might try a Logitech keyboard cover. Logitech makes some of the best keyboards for work and writing, IMO. And I saw some of their cases which seem more appealing. I think I'm more disappointed in that this keyboard doesn't come with any real shortcut keys. I didn't think that was a big deal when I was hearing others talk about it in reviews, but it turns out I use those functions way more than I thought. I never realized it because I was never with a keyboard that didn't have those functions on my other devices. But I do notice it now.The keyboard itself works fine. I thought the felt material would make it hard to type. It takes some getting used to, but you'll be able to touch type on it after getting exposed to it for a little while. What I didn't get used to, however, was how it doesn't have an extended area under the keyboard to rest your wrists. That alone is not so bad, but when combined with the steep angle that it holds the iPad, it makes the keyboard seem more like a novelty than a practical tool (though, in reality, the keyboard still is a practical tool when you're set up at a desk or table). When using it on your lap, expect a hassle. When using it on your stomach/belly when lying in bed, expect a hassle. When you're trying to use it standing up...GOOD LUCK! It's meant for a table/desk. And in that regard, it's great.What I do wish would be that Incipio would make the Clamcase for this 12.9 iPad Pro. It effectively turns your iPad into a laptop. I had one for my other iPads and loved it. The keys, the shortcut selection, and of course the entire clam shell experience, really is the direction Apple should've went. While it makes the iPad heavier for sure, it makes it far more functional. You can use it like a laptop, and if you keep extending the upper part, it folds back in on itself to function as a tablet. Any angles in between those make it like a very sturdy iPad stand. But this Smart Keyboard case gives up all that function for form. Yes, the iPad is relatively light. Yes, the iPad is slim. But overall you get a keyboard that works optimally in only one condition. And a stand that works in only one angle.So I'd recommend it if you want that form over function. If you want function over form, then look elsewhere.

Super easy to just clip on. Plus it connects at the edge connection port so you DO NOT need to charge it separately. One less battery to worry about, no wifi to connect to, just pop it on and go. Totally hassle free, and seriously who wants to spend time charging a keypad, making sure it connects on bluetooth and having extra cords to carry around when you travel.

 This is the Apple Smart Keyboard for 12.9 inch 1st and 2nd generations. It’s working perfectly on my 2nd generations iPad Pro 12.9 inch.I saw lot of negative complaints & comments about this 🍎 Smart Keyboard. Make sure buy new condition, not the used one or open box.I bought from (WorldWide Distributors) (condition : new) And I’m using every day, so far so good. I’ll rewrite my opinion if anything happen later. But it was same original 🍎 Keyboard which I bought from another store and I paid more for that.

Very bad product. I received mine this morning at 10am. By 4pm my Ipad's battery was drained from 100% to 42% and I used it for less than an hour during the day. I also had a lot of problems regarding connectivity. My iPad didnt pick up the keyboard at first. After a while it was working. Then it stopped again. I ended up going to my nearest iStore. They tested it on several iPads and the same problems occured regarding connectivity issues. I had to pay R250.00 for Apple to take in the Smart Keyboard for testing - remember it is BRAND NEW and only a few hours on my device. I am certainly not a happy customer at all - I did not expect such a bad product from Apple.

I loved this keyboard in the Apple store when I tried it out, but the one I received by ordering it here was apparently defective. At first, the connection between the keyboard and iPad was not always working. I often had to disconnect and reconnect a couple of times to make it work. I figured it was user error. But then, after a couple of months, the keuboard stopped working entirely. Unfortunately, that happened after my ‘return window’ and ‘support window’ both had closed. This should have lasted more than three months. I am very dissatisfied with it.

I rec’d the Apple Smart Keyboard 6 days ago. I really like the connection right to the iPad Pro 12.9” without using Bluetooth. I used the keyboard for only 4 of the six days and it malfunctioned. I couldn’t use the space bar and some of the letters. I did like how it had a nice tilt and it didn’t feel flimsy. The keyboard itself was a bit narrow for my liking but, was comfortable enough to use. I’m very disappointed with this Apple product because I’ve always had great experiences with Apple! It came packaged seemingly brand new. I also thought it was a full cover case which, it is not.

The keyboard itself usually works well. Sometimes, it doesn't make a connection. Mine is also developing some rust in one spot where the magnet attaches to the iPad Pro.
