These hinges did the job. We had an old footstool that used a giant pillow in the center to rest your feet on. I removed the old pillow and cut a piece of 3/4" walnut plywood and installed the hinges. They work nicely for this, you can actually use it to eat on if you like. Now the old footstool is a small table. The hinges are sturdy enough for this job.

We ordered this to repurpose our blanket chest to a coffee table and it works wonderfully!! After shopping for a coffee table with a lift up top for dining or as a desk, one weekend, we were agates at the prices of them, so my husband search for them on Amazon and found these!!! We use this everyday and it seems durable, easy to install and use. It closures gently bc we guide it but even when we don’t it seems to be a controlled closure. We believe this was WAY worth the money, and will probably be repurposing more tables for our AiirBNBs. 👍🏻👍🏻!!

The extra overhang is nice - but it might be too much for a narrow piece that might have weight on it. I needed counterweights for a 16x32 coffee table, or else I WILL end up with a lap full of spaghetti someday. I needed the overhang tho - not sorry.

We use these to lift up a countertop in the garage and it works very easily. They were easy to install and very uniform so it comes up together.

With no template for install, it can be tricky to determine where they need to be installed, but once figured out they work as advertised. I like them, and the coffee table I made turned out perfectly. If there were directions included, I would have given 5 stars instead of 4. But again, great product.

I'm actually a little surprised how easy these were to use. The instructions were clear, and I just happened to have a table that I was wanting to modify, and it was built in such a way that I could use the lift mechanism hinges without compromising the structural integrity of my table. I would probably not recommend these for many of the inexpensive prepac pressboard coffee tables as the top on many of these need to be bolted to the legs and other parts to keep it from falling apart, but these would be great to replace existing hardware or for custom work. The top I used these on is a fairly light weight birch and the hinges are doing a good job.
