We planned to host a campout for our son's birthday, and the mosquitoes have been intense this summer. Since there was no way to get electricity out to the part of our property they set up the tent, we needed to explore solar options.We were skeptical at first this bug zapper would hold a charge for very long, but after a month and a half of use, we are still having great results. We don't delight in killing things for sure, but the biting flies and mosquitoes put a damper on playing outside and this is a far better option to dumping a bunch of chemicals in our forest. Hearing the snaps start happening at dusk usually sends contented giggles around the room.We have been happy to see there haven't been things like fireflies in the trap, and honestly the only thing that's been a little bit of a chore has been the need to clean out the dead bugs, but I guess that just means it's doing it's job well. That process is pretty simple too, just gross.As for the battery life while running on day time mode, we've only used it at that setting a couple of times so we can't verify how long the battery last there. We don't think it will be a problem, but you'll have to try it for yourself.We anticipate purchasing two more to put at the other side of our yard now that we know how well the battery keeps a charge. On top of the unit are two solar panels you can unfold to charge the unit. The first opens easily, while the second needs to be released by loosening two screws holding it down. If you have the solar panels down, the unit can charge during the daytime hours and be ready for use at night. Since this zapper is waterproof, you can place it outdoors without worrying about rain damaging it. You can also clean it under running water.

Bought for under my gazebo and lasted 4 days in clear 70 degree weather woke up today and won't turn on even after charger it with the Type C cable.Summary worked great till it didn't.

This items is a must have especially this time of year!!I have a lot of different unit but this one last the long and save electricity!! It solar battery power on a full charge you will get about 12 hours of use which is amazing but you can also plug it in!! Which we do for the night time, I brought 2 different kind of unit to Vietnam, this unit and a smaller one which is only battery operated or plug in power and it smaller, the smaller was only unit only protect us for like 30min after that it was you will be attacked by the mosquito!🦟! But this unit, we were able to sleep without a net, it was very easy to set up, my daughter drop it a couple time by accident and it still workthe durability it amazing , portability lightweight is amazing, the only noise you will hear is when it zap ⚡️ the mosquitoes and any other flying bugs The until last about a long time!!Well buy more
