Really surprised at the quality
The media could not be loaded. This arrived and I was a little dubious. However, when I opened it up, I was very surprised. It feels like a good bit of kit and comes with a memory card to save images to as well. The screen is very clear and moves to a comfortable viewing position.I was also impressed by the little slides that came with the microscope. A great start to be able to see the quality of the magnification. The focus wheel has a lot of differentiation to be able to see the items. I was very impressed with this. I believe it is worth the money.

Good portable microscope. Good pictures quality.
This is a great value pocket microscope for the beginner scientist out there. I bought this for my son to help him with a few of his school science projects. He has used it a good few times now and I am very impressed with its performance. It is simple to use, sturdy and the quality of detail it shows is amazing. It's great for inspecting many interesting things in and around our garden especially leaf structures . Perfect size to carry around and fit into your pocket. It comes with a 32G memory card which can be used if you wish to upload photos and videos both of which are high quality for the price. Great fun!

Flawed Design
Meant to be hand-held, for use by a child, but the minimum magnification is far too great for that purpose. The picture shows the minimum magnification of a steel ruler with lines 0.5mm apart. At these high magnifications the object under scrutiny and the microscope both have to be held steady, which can be done resting the 'scope on a flat surface, but not hand-held. There is very little depth of field, so not much use looking at anything other than 2-D objects. Okay for tiny specimens prepared on slides, but useless for carrying around in a pocket for 'field' work.Mine arrived with tatty packaging, as if it had already been returned by someone else and patched up before being shipped to me. I couldn't present it as a gift. I've now bought a much better digital microscope for half the price and ideal for a child. Look for something with a sensible range of magnification.

Expected a little better
Design is great, but let down a little by poor CCD that generates grany / low res photos when you view them on a laptop or monitor. You expect better these days at this price point
