No it doesn't & the setting aren't clear either.

is there a minimum quanitity of food? thinking about getting the 8l, but concerened i will be coooking too much food

You are advised in the instructions that it has to be at least half full when used. In practice it means that I often have to double the amount of liquid I use, which can be expensive if using wine or other alcohol for the recipe. Personally I would prefer a slightly smaller version, somewhere between the 3.5 l and the 6.5 l.

What is the warranty whithout extendet protection?

I never bothered to take one out, and it does not mention the length of the warranty in the manual. My guess is a year. I assume the warranty information was included and I have thrown it away.
