Works great for mange and soothing red/exposed skin
We recently adopted a young dog that has been dealing with mange.....while working on getting her fur to grow back, I also wanted to help heal her exposed skin as well. I saw the great reviews for this and thought we would try it. This stuff is really pretty good, it smells nice...like coconuts....lathers easily, rinses well and leaves our dogs red/exposed skin nicely conditioned. We currently use it every 3-5 days, depending on our schedule. I would definitely recommend this to anyone dealing with mange issues.

First shampoo that helped my dog
My vet had suggested Masaleb shampoo for my 12 yr old dog. I was so sick of giving her steroid shots and antibiotics that just wouldn't do the job. We have never been able to pin point the source of her allergy. But the Masaleb just wasn't enough by itself. My vet had suggested to wash her with Dawn first to cut the greasy sebaceous build up at the base of her hair follicles. This DermaPet DermaBenSS shampoo did the trick. I use this and make sure to leave it on 10 mins before rinse, then follow with the Masaleb. I am so pleased! My dog was not so happy with the twice a week baths, but after a month she cleared up. Now I bathe her once a week and hope to reduce that starting next month. I know I have to keep this up, as we never did find what caused this in the first place, but i just can't tell you how this has changed our lives. No more scratching. My dog even grew hair back on her stomach that had stayed scratched off for the last year! The Masaleb also has to stay on for 10 mins before rinse, so it's a long process. Worth it! I have a happy dog! The product smells like coconut and does not dry out her skin. I recommend this combination!

Works for constant skin infections.
I have a 2 year old pitbull. He gets constant skin infections due to overactive Seborrhea, basically his skin cells produce much faster than a normal dog, making his skin itchy and extremely oily. In turn, making him miserable and stinky. This product was prescribed by his vet. Within the first use I started seeing results. After 1-2 baths a week for about a month, his skin was healthy and his fur started to grow back. Now, the cons of this product have caused me to knock a star off. First, this product dries their skin out like no tomorrow. After every bath, large white flakes would start to fall from his coat. I'm assuming this means that the product is working and removing the build up of dead skin cells. Just a little gross because now my dogs dead skin cells are snowing around my house (lol). Second, when you stop using it for too long, all his conditions come back. Side note: I have him on a very expensive, all natural, grain free diet, as recommended by multiple pet dermatologists. That's why I was turned to this product because his diet wasn't effecting his skin conditions.

Recommended by our vet dermatolotgist and it helped alleviate a lot of our dog's scratching!
Our wire fox terrier had terrible skin allergies and this shampoo was recommended by the vet dermatologist. It was much cheaper to purchase it through Amazon than the vet. We had to bathe the dog every 3 or 4 days! The smell was not at all offensive - as other medicated shampoos had been! It seemed to help cut down on his itching and scratching considerably. My one suggestion would be to get a smaller squeeze bottle and transfer some of the shampoo in to it - filling maybe half the bottle and adding water to fill it up. There was plenty of lather with the diluted amount and made it easier to use.

Great for seborrheic dermatitis and mites.
Far superior to SynergyLabs AntiSeborrheic & AntiParasitic shampoo for seborrheic dermatitis. I went through a whole bottle of Synergy Labs and it did very little. Not sure why it has so many 5 star reviews. DermaBenSs actually eliminated my schnoodle's flaky buildup altogether. I used it every 4 four days initially. Now he's clear, rarely scratches and his hair is growing back. It claims to deep clean the sebum from the roots. This may in fact be true. He doesn't get the funky sebum smell as quickly after a bath as he did previously. As another reviewer noted, it's also great for mites (along w/Rx of course). We foster rescue dogs, and I bathe them in DermabenSs the very minute they arrive at my house. The shelter sometimes houses dogs with mange and I worry about infecting my own dogs. I just let the shampoo sit for 5-10 minutes.

Dermabenss Shampoo
Recommended by Vet for skin condition of Labrador Retriever. Used twice a week for 2 1/2 months. Seemed gentle on skin. No offensive odor. This was a reorder. Product arrived with a loose cap in packaging. Suggest bottle be sealed before shipping. Was a bit messy. Great product though.
