Update: 6 months of everyday use and it’s still going strong! Buy it!This was my birthday present. I have been watching the home nugget ice machines since the opal was crowdfunding. I waited to purchase because of the bad reviews and problems with the OG nugget ice makers. I looked at pretty much all the nugget ice machine options on Amazon and decided this one was the best deal with the best reviews ( a lot of these nugget ice machines share a listing with a bullet ice machine which I think is deceptive because most of the positive reviews are mostly for the more established and less expensive bullet ice maker but I digress) i’ve had this since November 10,It is now the 21st and the machine is doing great. It makes enough ice for me and my husband to constantly be filling up our tumblers. I drink iced tea all day long and I have leftover ice every day - I was worried since it was so small it wouldn’t produce enough, but I was wrong. I will take this to parties with me, I will take this when I travel. I love this machine. I included two pictures- one of the ice, and another of the nugget ice machine compared to my seven-year-old bullet ice machine and you can see how much smaller my nugget ice machine is. It takes up less space on the counter, which is great when you don’t have much counter space. As far as the noise concern that I’ve seen on some of these reviews, I would say it compares to my dishwasher it’s not too loud it’s not too bad I believe my bullet ice machine is actually louder than this one.

I absolutely loved this ice maker for the first couple months. Now it makes a horrible grinding sound and little black pieces with the ice and water reservoir. Don't waste your money. I started having issues right after the return window.

Makes great ice. Be sure to clean it often.

Makes excellent ice nuggets at a goid speed. Only draw back is it is VERY loud.

Let's get one thing straight. This is purely a luxury, non-necessity item. But, if you like the soft chewable - "Sonic" - ice then this is the machine for you.My wife has been eyeing a machines like this for a long time but for hundreds of dollars more. I felt it was silly to spend that kind of money on a counter top ice machine when we already have an ice maker built into the fridge. The answer was always a resounding NO.Then I stumbled across this. Not even sure how. It wasn't during prime days or anything like that. But it was relatively inexpensive compared to what she was looking at plus it had a high dollar instant coupon, AND a 10% promotion code at check out. Really knocked the price down and made it difficult to pass up.I surprised the wife with it and she was ecstatic. Now almost every night she sits and chews on the ice like it's a special dessert or something. She's been bagging the ice to have plenty on hand for special occasions. And I have to admit, it's nice to have in my insulated tumblers for my ice water.

The ice machine was very good for the past year. It made the crunchy ice that we all love. The price was 200+ when it first came out, for that amount I thought it would last longer. We used it all the time and kept it clean, but still it stopped making ice last month. The help section for the ice machine was no help. Each section says to defrost, clean and try again.

The media could not be loaded. Pros:*Ice is perfect (for me) nugget ice. Soft, but crunchy.*Once it gets ‘warmed up’, ice making speeds up.*Relatively quiet. It’s an ice maker, it’s going to make noise. Video seemed to amplify sound, it’s not that loud in reality.Cons:*If storing for later use, ice does clump together. Not a huge issue since you can break it up.*Not made in the USA.*Can’t think of any other cons!Absolutely love this ice maker. Told my husband that this is a definite ‘must have’ in my life since I only drink ice cold water. When this eventually breaks down, I WILL buy another nugget ice maker!Best purchase this year!! I use water from our water purifier to make the ice and it tastes great!

I like the smaller size. It does run constantly because the collector bin is so small that it only fills up about 1 cup per load.

Absolutely great product. Delivery as promised, one day. Package really securely ( awesome). Easy to set up. They recommend cleaning it first which was very easy to do ( follow the instructions). I read some people saying it’s loud. In my opinion it is not. It is the same noise level as a bread machine or a those small ice cream machine where it churns. I’m really happy with my purchase

I love this product! I turn it on first thing in the morning before I Ieave for work and I have a tumbler full of ice for my wateror juice. Its easy to use, and not loud (as some reviews state).

Received my machine today. Let it sit in the spot for about 3 hours and then when I went to try it it does not work. Tried doing the self clean and tried making ice and nothing. White light comes on does not flash and then after about 15-20 seconds red “add water” light comes on even though it is full. Tried the self clean and the little arm rotates on the top for a few seconds, the light flashes a few seconds and then stops because the red “add water” light comes in again. Now I have to package the thing up again, apply for a refund and then wait until they receive my defective machine for my refund so I can order a different machine. Not happy at all

Some reviews say it's noisy. I would have to disagree. It's only about as loud as a good air purifier. I bought it as a gift for my fiance and she loves it. It works great, the only downside to this machine is it will pile ice up on one side of the bin. When it is allowed to pile up it will stop making ice thinking it's full. So you have to even out the ice periodically so that doesn't happen. Pretty small downside if you ask me. Definitely would recommend it if you're looking for a nugget ice maker. Perfect for cocktails or people who like to chew ice. I would give it 5 stars of I'd didn't pile to one side, but if I could I'd give it 4.5 stars, since I can't do half stars it has a well earned 4 star rating from me.
