Cant bring myself to call him Slug!
As a 40-something man-child who is a huge fan of the original Generation 1 Transformers toys, comics, and animation, I am naturally a massive fan of the Dinobots, who were pretty much every 80's kids favourite Transformers sub-group, so I couldn't resist the opportunity to get my hands on them again!Dinobot Slag (He's now called Slug so as not to offend anyone, but no self respecting G1 fan is going to call him that!) doesn't disappoint. He looks every part the faithful recreation of his Generation 1 toy, cartoon, and comic book self, and comes with a fantastic range of movement and poseability, as well as an easy to achieve and cool looking Triceratops mode.Unlike Power of the Primes Grimlock, Slag also comes with a blaster rifle - although he is frustratingly still missing the energy sword that was a staple of each member of the team back in the 80's. He also comes with 'Prime Armour' - in reality just a component that allows the Dinobot team to be assembled into a combined gestalt form (yeah, so combining Dinobots is now a thing apparently). In terms of complaints - missing energy sword aside - he's also a little bit small in my opinion, standing at about 5" tall. The point I'm sure is so that Grimlock towers over the rest of the team (which he does), but this means that all of the other Dinobots are about the same size as all of the regular Autobots, when traditionally even the smallest of them stood a head above their Autobot colleagues as befitted warriors of their ferocity and statue.Overall though these are fairly small complaints, and not enough to prevent me giving Dinobot Slag (not Slug!) the maximum five star review!
