Different surface
Does not stick well to uneven brick fireplace facing. And not planning to drill holes into it.

Looks very nice
It covers a fireplace that had soot that could not be completely removed. The fireplace, by local law, is no longer in use. The mesh extends about 4 inches on the left, right and above the opening. It looks nice but does not hide the fact that it covers a fireplace.

Great purchase!
I got this because my daughter started crawling and would pull up on our traditional fireplace gate and it would fall over on her. This is perfect. It looks great, it’s easy to install, fits perfectly, and even withstands my 25 pound 11 month old pulling on it.
