JVL Rug safe carpet gripper for carpet floors 120 x 180cm

We use a barrier mat to protect our carpet from the wheels of our home office chair and general wear and tear underneath the desk. However the barrier mat has a life of its own and constantly moves to the left and we are forever moving the chair and readjusting the mat. We recently had a new carpet fitted and this just made things worse. We have tried all kinds of grippers and tapes but none of them worked so as a last resort we thought we would try this 'JVL Rug safe carpet gripper for carpet floors'. We bought the 120 x 180cm so as to cover the whole of the underside of the barrier mat and it was worth every penny. It has been in daily use now for almost a month and the barrier mat has not moved a fraction. So 100% success for us. Brilliant product.

What a waste! I was very confused about how to attach this when I got it, since only one side appeared sticky and was already stuck fast to itself. It was a while before I figured out the other side was a peel away film, this was hard to figure out because it was so hard to get off the film cover! Neither side was sticky enough to stay attached to my carpet whilst I was trying to peel away the film, and I couldn't do it all in one go because it would get stuck to me, itself and every invisible hair in existence! I only got it halfway onto my carpet before I gave up entirely, and it left a horribly sticky mess on my carpet and fingers — even though it didn't stay stuck in place! I don't think it would have secured my carpet well even if I had managed to get this on. Definitely do not get this if you value your carpet or time.

This sticks very well onto our fitted carpet but the rug still creeps as shown in my photo. So although it doesn’t move as much as before I cannot say that this product has been 100% effective for us

I ordered two of these, which is just as well. The single one didn't work at all, because, when I followed the instructions to put the sticky side down, the non-sticky side slid around, and didn't anchor the upper rug at all. I turned it over, and it didn't work any better that way either. However, when I opened the second mat and put it on top of the other one—so both the carpet and the rug had a sticky side—they worked a treat.So I'm giving it 4 stars, but you really need two of them put together. At least I did.

For 5 years we've lived with a large mat/rug near our front door which wanders around as though it's got a life of it's own.For 5 years this has driven me mad, I must straighten it at least once a day, until I finally snapped and...bought two of these.These are super thin adhesive pads, stick one side to the carpet and then put the rug or mat on top. Our mat is quite large so I bought two, but I actually think one would suffice. since we put it down the mat hasn't moved an inch, it's amazing something so cheap and simple could work so well.It's not stuck down so well I'd be worried about it being stuck forever, although I don't want to move it. We have two pads on either half of the mat, neither of which runs to the edge so you can still lift the mat to vacuum, although we are careful not to pull it too much. As good as this is I'm sure if it was stuck and unstuck too many times it would eventually lose it's stickiness.Overall, if you have a similar problem I'd recommend it, I wish I had them years ago.

I bought this to, obviously, stop my rug moving but unfortunately it didn’t work and when I took the rug and the product up it left my carpet sticky! My cats wouldn’t walk o it because their paws kept sticking! Very disappointed and put it in the bin! Even my vacuum struggled to get past the stickiness!

Really useless, doesn't hold the rug at all, just creeps along. Total waste of money
