PROS For the price range this is a very good product for what I need it for, which is painting miniatures. It has a coil on the side that is to put the hot soldering pen for electronics, but for me it can help to hold brushes or other things. LED Light is very good and the magnifying glass along with the 2 smaller auxiliary 5X and 8X glasses are handy. It is AC/DC power enabled, so that's useful if your power outlet is not at close range. SMALL CONS (this is just me being picky, but I like the product) Though the feel of the metal knobs when adjusting and repositioning the metal bars with clamps is not great (you can tell the material and construction is not AAA), you kinda' have to fasten them very hard so they're not loosen easily. Other small drawback is the short AC power cord it's like 2.5 or 3" long, but then again if you have an outlet or power strip close enough it shouldn't be a problem Packaging was a bit damaged, and the quality of the box was very low. Besides, after you put the helping hand all together it doesn't fit in the box so it doesn't encourage you to put it back in the box when you're not using it. For me it does the job just fine, and for the price I paid I'm very happy with the product.

The concept is exactly what I wanted to help me with my aging eyesight but, there are a couple of improvements that would make this five stars. The base is lightweight and could be a little heavier to help offset the weight of the project piece. The main post that everything clamps to is simply too short for it to be a 5-star item. Add to that, the main post is not removable and so I cannot replace it with a longer post. Nit-picking things but let's keep this real - this is a great item that could use a few improvements. It still performs very well for my needs but, could be perfect for my needs.

When I saw this, I thought it was the best idea ever. Unfortunately, it is not able to function as it is implied it will. To start, no directions for assembly included. Image that identifies the pieces does not give you a lot. The doo-ma-hickeys are incapable of staying in place. The little screw dealios can't be screwed in tight enough to prevent sliding, drooping or spinning. This is terrible and dangerous when you have a hot item in those clamps you are working on. The pieces get in the way of one another. I love the magnifier and lamp, clamps are sturdy too, if only they would stay put. I will dissect it and repurpose useful pieces.

Perfect addition to anyone's jewelry making supplies. I use for holding my pieces that need soldering and for placing o-rings. The uses are endless but I particularly like being able to use the magnifying glass and the light, and being able to adjust the light to whichever position that I need to concentrate on. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is making jewelry, fishing lures, anything that you need tiny fingers for holding, a light to brighten the area, or the magnifying glass to make seeing your project clearly. It comes neatly packaged in a box which would make it easy to wrap as a gift for any hobbyist.

I got this to help me with some new hobbies. I love this product. Clips, glass and light all can be moved in any configuration to best work on small items. Magnifying glass is perfect and is sharp and clear. I was worried the small base would not be heavy enough. Not so, the base is weighted and with the 3AA batteries it stays put pretty well. Al just $19 its a real steal!!

It is usable, but I thought it was going to be bigger. It is hard to work with with the limited space. If your project is bigger, it is useless. It did help me to finish my project and it is useful. Thank you.
