confusing for dementia sufferers
technically and physically speaking this is a good item. I have found one major flaw with it which left my elderly mother so confused that she ended up staying up all night.at 12:00am the clock changes from Mon evening 11:59pm to 12:00am TUESDAY MORNING. If mom hasn't yet gone to bed, she reads this as 12:00 daytime and can't understand or reason as to why it is dark. so when I found her still awake and dressed at 4:00am one morning she said is it winter? its awfully dark for 4 O'clock.IDEALLY this should read 12:00am BEDTIME or 1am Bedtime, 2am bedtime etc until at least 6am in my opinion when it could then change to morning.mom cannot comprehend that 2 minutes after bedtime is then the next day.On the days she goes to bed before midnight, its not a problem.

Good for people needing big display
Description is wrong: there is no wireless remote. Other than that it works OK, and they replaced it when the display went completely gaga.

Visable time, date and day information.
This product is excellent in its simplicity - just day, date and time very large and clear. Would recommend it to anyone who wakes up in the night wondering what time it is.

Some good and bad points not sure if want to keep
Not sure on this item, I needed a basic alarm clock for my mum and because she has memory issues so never knows the day and date this seemed a good option. She likes how clear and obvious it is but the alarm is very loud and the buttons being on the back or finding the remote make it difficult to stop. Also the volume on the back doesn’t seem to adjust. Lastly even on the lowest brightness it’s like a night light when she’s trying to sleep so has to turn it away.

Nice-looking but not perfect
A nice-looking clock. It keeps fair time though it drifts off by a minute every month or two, which probably reflects saving money on its control circuitry in its manufacture. It's also a shame that it hasn't a matt finish, like a real blackboard which I saw at a friend's place, instead of that it is shiny glass / plastic fronted, but that is as described in its sale listing.By which I mean that, unlike some, it's not described as "matt". Ideally I would have gone radio-controlled matt-fronted but I did not find one with both those features and I was swung by the remote control. In practice, though. I found adjusting the time manually on the back of the clock easiest, with a bit of practice.

Good product for the elderly.
Bought for my parents who are in their 90's . My Father is also partially sighted. They like this clock very much. Used in their bedroom, its easy to see in the dark, and helps them remember the day and time of day. The only issue they have noted is that it still says night at 7am here in the U.K at the end of June when it gets light at 4am.

Great device - my mum loves it and relies on it
Ordered this for my mum who occasionally naps in the day and can be a bit confused when she wakes. It's a great device about which she is hugely enthusiastic - as it offers reassurance about where the world is up to if she's feeling unsure. As someone who works strange shifts, I'm considering one myself..... Shame it doesn't work on batteries - but I can understand why not - with a constant display, it would probably run out fairly frequently and that could lead to all sorts of problems!

great clock for the elderly with failing eyesight
Bought this for my 92 year old sister who has a major eye problem but this clock was ideal for her and she could see the time perfectly.
