Excellent mini flash for Macro Photography!
Excellent mini flash for Macro Photography! Use it with my Canon EOS R and R6 Mark II. It has ETTL and Manual flash modes, works flawlessly. Has mini LED's also for constant video light if needed. Works great with my Canon EF 100mm 2.8L IS Macro USM lens.

Great, but not for me.
Lightweight, sleek, bright and easy to use. Works perfectly fine with my Canon EOS M50. I really like this flash but it doesn't suit my purposes.I've mistaken its fast flash speed for high speed sync. Sadly for me, this flash does NOT have HSS capabilities so I max out my shutter speed at 1/250s, and for that reason, I'm out.

Great features and excellent customer service
Pretty good flash, just arrived a few days ago so far very good, it works both as master and slave mode, it has slave 1 and 2 which enables to use in ETTL mode in tandem with shoe mounted flash or trigger optically. The only thing I haven't figured out yet it does not communicate aperture with my camera (I am using it on 6D mark 2).Pros:Battery life is very good doesnt drain the battery very quickly unlike my experience with some other flashes. The design of battery door is excellent and the swivel up and sideways is very good.Cons:Only critic I have is that the remote sensor is placed at the front. This causes issue when you place the flash between the camera and the subject (so that you can have it closer to the subject). Because the sensor needs to face the camera to enable remote trigger the flash also will face the camera unless you tilt it upwards which only goes 90 degrees so it will be only possible to bounce from the roof or umbrella if you want to trigger from behind. Only way to work around this issue would be to use radio triggers but that's additional gear which I dont have at the moment, and I try to keep my gear within reasonable size as I am not a pro. Will update as I use it more or if I find any issues. I would have felt more comfortable to give 4.5 stars but for now I give 5 stars rounded up.Update Jan 28, 2018:This flash stopped working the second time I tried to use, basically it does not fire either on camera or the pilot mode. We tried it on several cameras with no luck. It shows everything normal, but when you press the pilot button or the shutter on the camera it doesn't fire although the red indicator light flashes as if it is recharging! Tested with different sets of batteries same issue, rechargeable or alkaline battery no difference.Update 24 Feb 2018:So the seller got in touch about the issue that I have raised above, they sent a new flash and this one works perfectly. They were very attentive and did what they promised. My conclusion is Meike has excellent customer service. The excellent features of this flash are certainly above those competing ones in the market which is why I chose to buy this in the first place. So I have reinstated 5 stars for the product and the customer service, I will update if I come across with any issues with the flash.

Disappointing
I wanted a low power flash for macro. In that regards it worked. The problem was I had it a couple of days and went through 2 sets of batteries.I went to move the flash after it had been "off" for awhile and the batteries and flash were super hot. I am returning it and will probably not get another one of these.

E-TTL meters perfectly with my Canon SL-2
E-TTL meters perfectly with my Canon SL-2. Excellent design and looks well made. It is powerful enough for me, and so small and lightweight, taking only 2AA batteries. For my casual use, it really does everything my heavy full size flash does. It also doubles as a video light (or flashlight) if you push the power button twice. It does not say that in the manual, which is rather poorly written. Overall, it is an excellent flash.

Not for fotostacking for macro photos
I bought this as a youtuber had this as his favorite flash for macro. Ok its small and the batteries are common AA (I have rechargeable Enelope). Maybe it's just me, but I could not figure out a setting that uses automated focus stacking built in a mirrorless camera without the images being inconsistently bright. I wish I would have spent double the money on a slightly larger model, but it's too late now as it took me too long to figure out this issue. If you just want a single shot it seems fine.

Excellent alternative to name brand flash
Excellent alternative to 270 ex and ex ii.Pros:1. Able to rotate and bounce in portrait2. Comes with diffuser3. Can charge rechargeable batteries via usb4. Price5. Has led steady light if needed6. Can also be use as a slave unitCons:1. On/off switch (will have to hold to turn off otherwise it will turn on led lights)2. Slightly bigger than 270 exBoth cons are very minor

A great unit, but ...
This flash came highly recommended for macrophotography, and it works well for that.My one criticism is that the on/off switch is a push button, which means the unit can be turned on inadvertently while it is in my camera bag or even when I'm carrying it in my photographer's vest.It sucks when you get out in the field and find your batteries died in transit.
