Why did you pick this product vs others?:These are great knock off tools, but dont expect to spend less than $100 on a set like this and get the quality of $500 Pfiel gouges. They work well, they are easy to sharpen, and the mallet is great quality. I rate them 3 stars because the handles are heavily varnished and the steel is pretty soft. They take an edge well, and hold an edge for a little while, but not nearly as long as I would deem satisfactory, but better than mild steel.
