This harness connector is simple to install, you unplug your hood release sensor, plug this harness into your hood release sensor, take the other end of this harness and plug it in to your vehicles harness that you just unplugged from your hood release sensor, plug it into this connector and you’re done. I use the zip tie, hold the wire up, it’s a simple and easy part to install, and does exactly what it says it does. My auto stop feature is turned off now, I don’t have an engine light because I plugged it in correctly, everything works like it should and I am completely satisfied. Even with the price. This is the best deal if you can find on Amazon for this simple harness. Those of you that are leaving bad reviews, saying you have an engine light, it’s because you installed it wrong, sounds to me like you unplug your hood release sensor and just plug this into your vehicle’s harness and didn’t plug the other hand into your hood release sensor. You should go back and review your reviews and change it once you figure out how to hook it up correctly. My advice if you don’t know how to do it, take it to a technician who can do it for you because it’s super easy to do.

this little wire harness plugs in right behind the hood latch in the engine compartment, you will find a connector that matches there, disconnect the connector on the car and plug your new wire harness in between the two connectors, worked perfectly for me. NO more engine stop/start at stoplights. No check engine light!2018 Equinox

I own a 2018 XT5 and it did not fit.

When I purchased my vehicle it had auto stop which I hated! I looked on YouTube to make it stop and they recommended I disconnect it which made the check engine light come on. I got back on YouTube and one man specifically recommended this piece from this website! When I added it the check engine light went off. I absolutely recommend this piece, it’s affordable, and most importantly it works!
