Yes, one click start. easy to use.And have two modes for me to choose. Very useful. Bland mode: Click switch once, the green light will flash,and it start blending will last for 30 seconds Pulse mode: Double click,the orange light to flash-----press button to pulse blending, release to end mixing.

Is it good as a gift for my family or friends?

It is a good basic travel blender for liquid and a powder. It doesn’t perform as well with ice and frozen fruit in my experience. I’ve also found I have to do 2 blends to get the full cup for my protein smoothie - with all ingredients my typical blend includes 8 ou coconut milk, scoop of protein powder, scoop of collagen (maybe scoop of greens) frozen bananas and another fresh fruit. (Strawberry, pineapple or blueberries usually) .

is this works great and can blend frozen fruit or ices?

I made morning shakes with it and it was really easy to use. You can get the frozen fruit to blend up easily.It is powerful. And there is a extra convenience lid for me to use when i remove the base. Perfect design.
