Very informative tour guide
Very informative and it comes with a nice map! It gives lots of little tips about restaurants and neighborhoods besides all the pertinent information.

Excellent
Can't go wrong with lonely planet. It has honest true information. Online reviews and such can be misleading and cumbersome to sift through. Go with a trusted source.

Nice pocket size
This is a book more for those who have traveled to Budapest before and just wants a refresher or for those who just want a quick description of places. Does not have prices or nearly the level of detail the full books provide from Lonely Planet

Game changer - I would give it 10 stars if I could :)
Recently we went for a vacation in Hungry, Slovakia, Chechia and Germany. THIS book was accidentally THE most important thing I did to prepare for the trip. It is a history book that reads like an exciting novel. It sheds light on the events of this part of the world from 30,000 BC to today that not only shaped Budapest, but that entire part of our world. As we traveled, we were able to understand the LAYERS of history that we were visiting. It made it 'come to life' for all of us. It didn't mean to, because it is not a travel book, but it guided what we visited daily and how we understood the importance to, not only Budapest, but the entire area.I have recommended this book even to people who were BORN in Budapest because, oddly enough, I ended up knowing more pertinent information about their amazing city than they did. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
