Barrons 6 Practice Tests for the New SAT

The questions in this book doesn't match up with real SAT questions but it does follow the type of questions you will see on the exam. It definitely help me get used to the types of questions and challenge myself a lot. I have so far used this Barron book, some college board online questions, Kaplan and Princeton. Barron is the mosy hardest one of all review books I have used. Also most problems are really wordy like the June 2016's SAT test. And I did noticed there are many mistakes in there so I recommend having an instructor to go over these if you want this book to have a go. I wouldn't recommend anyone this book if they want to see questions same as on the test. On October 2016's test, I saw the math section was cut down and by cut down they made it less wordy and simpler like Princeton or Kaplan. Then, I would recommend Kaplan or Princeton. But if there are people like me who likes to be overprepare rather than under, I would use barron, kaplan and princeton, in this respective order.

My son has started practicing the test on this book. Right in practice Test 1 for Maths calculator section, Q 17 Page # 79, the answer given is wrong. The question:"A list of the weights of five, sixth-grade students are listed below:x, 108, 112, 113, 119If 112 is median value of the weights, what is the greatest value of x (assume x is a positive integer)?A) 107 B) 111 C) 112 D) 118The answer to this question should be 112, as it doesn't mention anything about the mode which means two students can have the same weight, however the answer given is 111.I would like to know from Barron's what is the right answer? if it is 111, would like to know the explanation. If it is indeed 112, would like to understand what is the quality check process put in so that the students are preparing it correctly. I am now wary of using this book for SAT preparation.

Worst Barron's book I have ever seen. I own a tutoring company and have used a ton of Barron's books for different subjects. Generally, I am fairly satisfied. Do they have some mistakes? Yes, but most prep companies books have some mistakes in them. So some mistakes were expected. I also expected that this book would be harder than the real test (as most Barron's books are) -- that's one of the reasons I use Barron's books. This Barron's book breaks from the mold in the worst possible way. There are numerous questions in every section of every test that are just wrong. On page 112 on the answer explanations of test 1, they say take 102pi and divide by 2pi. Then they say the answer is 102. Again, not a big deal if it was an isolated incident, but this book is rife with mistakes just like that.

Math Section is perfect, just a bit harder than the real thing. Verbal Sections are recycled from old SAT material and are horrible.

These are 6 GREAT practice tests. Did whatever online tests I could find but this book worked just as good if not better. The answers explained are a BIG help. Not much time left to before the test, but I am feeling much better about it, at least I feel prepared!

Do what we need in helping students achieve on the SAT

It could have been better if it was closer to College Board format tests, some things are just too different.

This is a FANTASTIC study aid!!!! It's very well organized and easy to use, and the problems presented are well thought out and challenging. The set of New SAT Flashcards has also been a lifesaver. The two together are AMAZINGLY HELPFUL!!!!

The bottom part of the book was damaged, however the book is good & I like it, go for it.
