What crochet hook size

Depending on your tension I would use a 10mm or 12mm hook

Is this wool soft? I want to make a scarf but don't like rough itchy textures.

Ideal weight and texture for the throw, I don't think it would be too scratchy for a scarf or shawl

How many would I need to knit a throw enough to cover 2 people?

I used 4 colours 5 balls of each , there wasn't much left over
