Strong; Versatile; Fairly universal threads. + good value for money + well made.
This item I bought hoping it would fit my binoculars as well as the lower end would fit the thread of my little-used Mono-pod. I'm delighted to say the threaded button on top fitted the front end of the central barrel of the binoculars and tightened a treat. The threaded socket on the lower horizontal tongue fitted the thread of the Mono-pod perfectly and so I have a very handy binocular rest to hold the 50x magnification binoculars steady easily, It might have been possible to fabricate something DIY at home but it wouldn't have been so strong and there might have been problems finding one with a matching thread so - for just under 10 quid this made a lot of sense and saved a load of trouble. It's well finished and strong. Should give years of service.

Simple bracket/mount to attach my binoculars to a tripod.
I bought this tripod mount as the missus had bought binoculars for a bit of stargazing. Packaging It came in a small cardboard box, the mount was within it inside a plastic bag. Design The design is very simple, the base is threaded to attach to your tripod. Compatibility wise I discovered the thread size is basically standardised for the vast majority of tripod. The thumbscrew works well to attach to the binoculars. It looks too be well made and not flimsy in any way. In use I quickly found I had gone about it the wrong way and attached the binoculars first. It is much easier to attach this mount to the tripod first. Once it's connected to the tripod it is very stable. I'm using it with this tripod B07TYWNH6N. Value for money I've marked it down a star for I think it's a bit expensive for a small piece of metal with a thumbscrew. Having said that I think had a bought a cheaper one I would've perhaps worried about it securing the binoculars well.

Check Compatibility Before You Buy
I own higher end roof prism Hawk binoculars. I've been looking for an attachment so that I can fix my binos to a tripod. Hawk actually supply a solution but it doesn't work on my model. Firstly, the screw couldn't be tightened. Secondly, it was very fiddly to attach due to the typically narrow profile of roof prism binoculars. Hawk were puzzled. However, believing it was a faulty item, they replaced it. Sadly, it had the same problem & are now looking at producing a new design in the future. I was then recommended to try the Opticron but sadly had the same results. Some more detailed clarity from them on compatibility would have helped. This adapter is well made & likely to be fine for most traditional porro prism, and some roof prism, binoculars. On a separate note, 5 stars to Amazon for their responsive, no quibble and highly efficient returns policy.

Top quality
The adaptor has just arrived and I have used it to connect my 10x50 binoculars to an old camera tripod that I am pressing into use for star gazing. There are cheaper adaptors on the market but I was impressed with all the positive reviews this item has received. The metal is very solid and is certainly not going to bend or vibrate. The connectors are also first class. My binoculars are now firmly mounted on the tripod with no give or wobble at all. It is still light so I have tested it out by focusing on some small birds in a neighbours garden. The results are first class as I can sit in the chair and view the birds with the binoculars held rock solid without any vibration or movement at all. Thoroughly recommended!

Useful L-bracket
Like at least one other reviewer of this product, I also bought it for use with a camera rather than binoculars. The 60mm version makes a cheap-and-cheerful L-bracket for my DSLR. It is large and strong enough to mount the camera in portrait orientation using the tripod bush and thereby achieves better weight distribution than just turning the tripod ball head sideways. But of course you have to unscrew and remove it to switch back to landscape. For those of you thinking of trying it out for this, check the dimensions first. The distance from the tripod screw (knurled knob in the picture) to the 90degree bend is approximately 7cm. The short leg has two 1/4-in female tripod screws, and at the other end it mounts onto the camera with a captive male 1/4-in screw (the one with the knurled knob). It's best to unscrew this and reverse it to mount the bracket onto the camera. It fits my Canon 50D with or without battery grip attached and 10mm to spare. I can't say whether the ones smaller than 60mm would be suitable with a larger camera like this. DSLR's are often a bit front-heavy and when mounted on this bracket the camera can sag a bit, so I used a small piece of thin rubber sheet to make a friction mount between the bracket and the camera. Although not ideal, it's quite satisfactory for most uses, as long as your lens is not too heavy. With these limitations in mind, I would recommend this to anyone who either cannot find an L-bracket to fit their camera, or does not want to pay the price for a 'proper' one.

Well made and strong. Much better built than most binocular tripod mounts.
