Sadly, it did not solve my problem, my remote has completely died. I am glad I tried this product, though. The case is good, and the buttons are fine. Swapping the battery is a straight swap if you have some basic soldering skills. This could have saved me over £200 for a new key to be programmed.

I was initially reluctant to buy this due to the lack of any other reviews but it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. You will need to cut open the old key fob to remove the printed circuit board, then solder the new battery on it. The board then fits into the new shell and clicks shut. It works perfectly and saved an absolute fortune compared to buying a replacement key from BMW. Reading the negative review that the case won’t click shut with the board inside, I had the same problem but this was easily fixed by cutting the tiny plastic shoulder off where the battery sits with a Stanley knife. It took me 5 seconds.

It’s okay and is easy to change

Cut open my old key. Removed the PCB, unsoldered the dead battery, soldered in the new battery and installed in the new case. Tested it and it worked. Installed the original key blade and job done. I had unlike other buyers no issue in clicking the case parts together. Only thing I would say is you need some basic soldering skills to remove the original battery and solder in the new one. Cost £14. Was quoted £220 by a garage for a new key fob. That's a saving of over £200....

O è pura follìa, o mi sfugge qualcosa di macroscopico. L'articolo è stato acquistato per sostituire guscio e batteria di una chiave elettronica BMW serie 1. Il primo, il guscio, avevo dovuto tagliarlo con il Dremel perchè è termosaldato all'origine (demenzialità per costringerti a ricorrere alla casa madre e sborsare 400 €), la seconda si era scaricata ED E' SALDATA alla scheda (la demenzialità prosegue). Questo prodotto doveva risolvere il problema. Anche se il guscio originale era stato tagliato abbastanza bene, era danneggiato e avrei dovuto incollarlo. Sostituendo la batteria avrei sostituito anche il guscio. Ed eccoci qui. MA ANCHE QUESTO è SALDATO !!!! Squotendolo, si sente qualcosa all'interno (forse la batteria di ricambio ??) ma è anch'esso impossibile da aprire. Non c'è un quiz di foglietto in qualsivoglia lingua che dica alcunchè per chiarire. Che faccio? Taglio anche questo così se all'interno la batteria è morta o sbagliata non posso più renderlo ? DE-MEN-ZIA-LE.
