Quality camera hardware, decent software. Best for advanced users.
I'm working on assembling and setting up a software-based NVR security camera solution for our house, and this is one of the cameras I've picked up.The physical construction is good, and exactly what you would expect from a camera at this price point.Although the included "one size fits all" instructions don't mention this specifically, it's very important to note that because of the plastic vandal-proof dome, and because this is not a PTZ camera that has motor elements inside, in order to adjust the angle /direction of the camera, you must unscrew and partially disassemble the camera (using a special uncommon screwdriver). This means that installation might be extra challenging, as it's rare to perfectly nail the right angle on the first go round. So this is definitely a "set it and leave it alone forever" type camera when it comes to it's direction and angle.I will say, I like the software interface that comes with this camera more than some other models from RealHD that I'm also using, although it still has a lot of dead-end controls that pertain to feature sets (PTZ, etc) that this camera does not have. I just ignore them, but I see how they could be confusing to others.I connected it to my network via a powered PoE switch, and it popped right up on my IP scanner. I was able to log in to the camera using the provided credentials/password, and found myself looking at the live stream. I appreciate that this doesn't want/need some dodgy "software update" to work properly out of the box.Clicking through the controls, you have a lot of options for VERY granular control over the video feed and settings. For someone like me who needs to make this camera fit into a custom system and wants/needs control over all those parameters, this is a huge win. For others, it could be very intimidating. My general take on this genre of rebranded standalone cameras is that they're an amazing, affordable solution for those who have the technical skill and knowledge (and often patience) to set them up in the right way (for them). BUT for those who are looking for something that just works perfectly out of the box, depending on your use case, this might be a frustrating experience. That's not this camera's fault, it's a very complex tool that does what it does really well. But it is an important thing for potential buyers to be aware of.

Not an 8MP camera
This is not a 4K 8MP camera. My $15 thrift store 2MP camera has better quality.

Decent camera, works well, sturdy, some good features.
This IP outdoor camera seems to be well built with a strong housing and protective clear dome.It has a wide range of resolutions to choose from, up to 4K and has pretty decent picture quality.I didn't see a very discernible difference in picture quality between my 5MP camera and this camera at 8MP. Both cameras were at the same resolution. I was hoping for a solid improvement, but maybe there were other factors at play.Installation is pretty typical for a dome style camera. Set-up and configuration is pretty easy through the web portal. The POE feature is very nice to have. There is no remote PTZ with this camera so you will have to adjust the tilt, angle, focus and any other lens settings while you have the dome open for installation. This camera works with many DVRs / NVRs using the ONVIF protocol. I had some trouble setting this camera up with my Blue Iris NVR style PC. I contacted the seller for support, they were responsive and helpful. They sent me a firmware update to see if that fixed my problem, it didn't. They offered to remote into my NVR PC but I didn't take them up on their offer as my NVR PC is not internet accessible. They would have to remote into my personal PC then remote to the NVR PC and I wasn't comfortable with that.I eventually discovered the problem myself, turns out my version of Blue Iris (version 3) doesn't support H.265. Once I set the camera to H.264 it connected to my Blue Iris right away. For the price, this is a good outdoor IP camera with some nice features. The camera works well and seems solid. I think this camera is a good choice for anyone looking for an outdoor POE IP dome camera capable of 4K resolution to add to their system. Having customer service that is responsive and helpful is also a plus.

Great camera for indoor or daylight use.
The media could not be loaded. This is an excellent PoE Vandal proof dome camera. I have been moving many of my lower resolution cameras to 4K 8MP. This camera was easy to set up with ONVIF on Blue Iris. For my initial testing I did a temporary install outdoors. As expected during daylight the camera quality and motion detection is spectacular. You can easily make out faces and details. IR night vision however is not great. These dome cameras in my opinion should really be used indoors or in an area where sufficient lighting exists during the night. If you are expecting great night vision motion detection, you will likely be disappointed. One issue with vandal proof dome cameras at night is the starburst effect that is often seen as light is reflected back to the dome.As long as you recognize the benefits and disadvantages of dome cameras, and pick the correct location and environment, this is a great camera. I will ultimately mount this camera in my garage and not use it outdoors.
