Riedel Vinum Viognier/Chardonnay

Wow, just wow! For years I had the Robert Mondavi Cabernet glasses by Waterford Crystal and didn't think there was any way in the word those could be topped. Well, I ended up breaking both of them (sadly!) and happened upon these majestic beauties. Five words for that: I should've broken the other ones sooner! There is a method to handling crystal glasses and most of you already know all of that. Suffice it to say that if you don't torque on the stem or base whilst washing and use two towels to dry, you should be golden. I bought four of these glasses weeks ago and I am still using the first glass I took out of the box and I drink every night, so there. (knocks on wood!) . EDIT: February 5, 2022. I came back to this review because I'm buying a pair for a friend. These beauties are still holding up wonderfully without any issues. They are wine royalty in every sense of the word!

Great glasses which brings out the full flavor and aroma.

Best for young, dense impenetrable, otherwise undrinkable Napa Cabs. Basically the glass will hold a 750 ml bottle of wine, so there is room to aerate wine. These are so big they are easy to hand wash, I'd never put them in a dishwasher because they are so easy to wash. Appropriate for Cabs, Merlot, Bordeaux, Shiraz (OZ), etc., Indispensable actually.

Best packaging in the industry

These are Reidel Cab glasses and so of course they are perfect. They arrived without damage and in less than days shipping. They are larger than your standard Wine glass, but of course that is exactly what is advertised. I have washed these by hand because they won’t sit nicely in my washer. I use cotton diaper cloths and a microfiber cloth to dry and polish them. They are thin and a bit delicate. So, handle by the bowl of the glass when washing. Treat the glass like a super delicate grenade when you wash and polish. Then you’ll be less likely to break one. However, in all likelyhood....you will. So, but a couple of backups and enjoy your wine. Cheers.

Most prefer not to admit it but you can serve ordinary wine in a beautiful glass and guests will think it's wonderful. Serve beautiful wine in an ordinary glass and the wine will taste ordinary too. (It works on yourself too. I know you don't believe that :) Durable and sturdy? Not so much. They weren't made to be durable and sturdy. They were made to be beautiful.

Great Riedel product as I am used to. They are large, and I mean large. I love them though, but please note that they are larger than I even thought and I love big wine glasses for my BIG wines. I take care of them personally and do not place on the dish washer.... so, they are as new as new can be!

I received the wrong product but I was fine with that. Instead of the Chardonnay/Viognier glasses, I received the Cabernet Sauvignon glasses. To be fully clear, I ordered these when they were quite cheap - so I did not feel the need to return these. Beyond that, the quality and glass is absolutely amazing. I love Riedel glasses. If you know how to take care of them, they will last a lifetime. Knock on wood, but I have yet to break one (I own more than 200 Riedel glasses). To wash them, I do wash them by hand (delicately). What I have found is that if you wash these right away after drinking alcohol in them, you run a higher risk of breaking these because alcohol makes the glass softer. If you wait the next day, you are less likely to break your glasses.

リーデルなので仕方ないのですが、薄くて割れやすそう。見た目はいいけどやや大きく持ちづらく、落としそうになる。値段も高い。 使いやすさでいったら、他のモデルの方がいいかな。

Al principio parecen muy grandes,en unos días las otras parecen muy pequeñas. Son delgadisimas y concentran los aromas muy bien.Permite una entrada muy delicada del vino matizando toda astringencia. Me han gustado mucho teniendo en cuenta que ya tenía varios modelos de este fabricante y por lo tanto ya tenia una idea formada de que podía esperar. Muy recomendable y bien de precio.

Excelente, recibí las copas a tiempo y era justo lo que pedí. Son de muy buena calidad. Lo recomiendo al cien.

今まで使用していたものを１個割ってしまったためリピートです。ガラスは薄く繊細です。そのため口当たりが非常によく同じワインでもほかのグラスと比べ物になりません。ワインの種類によっていろいろと揃えてみるのもよいです。
