Is this heater quiet? Will the "Venturi Effect" generate noise?

Very noisy for me - not so much in use, but when cooling very loud bangs, it can be heard on another floor in the house

Any one know how much it cost per hour to run?

From memory i think it is a 2 kw unit so if you pay typically 20p per kwh it will cost you 40p / hr at full power.

It has a strong strange smell filled the whole house. Is this normal?

If it is the first time it has been used there may initially be a hot paint smell, but it soon goes. We didn't experience anything that caused us concern. If it has been in storage over the summer and this is the first time you've used it this winter, check that something hasn't crawled into the vanes and built a nest or even died in there. Just a thought. ;-))

I wouldn't say its noisy. When first putting it on it does make a few creaking sounds with the oil heating up and once again when switching it off but overall when it's on its fine. Great heater, realisable, heats up fairly quick good value, overall great product. I would recommend this product all day long. Hope this has helped you make your decision. Kind regardsZahir
