Great product, especially for the price. The effect is gorgeous. Quite a bit of work, but worth it. The process is like this (in the loft) * Pull up insulation * Mark star hole points with marker * Drill holes with .75mm Dremel * Poke fibres through allowing for space for the insulation to be replace over the top. (To be clipped from below afterwards) * Hot glue fibres * Return insulation * Clip the excess from beneath using nail clippers Notes: I painted the ceiling afterwards even though you could barely see the fibres protruding. The light from them was so intense that after putting the LED unit on it's lowest setting I still had to put a filter between it and the fibre bunch. Planning the holes beforehand is important so you can get an even spread. Get as close to joists as you can sometimes or you'll have obvious lines of stars across the ceiling. Having the unit on a timer, or better still a Raspberry Pi controlled relay, is a good idea as the little remote controller is bound to go missing. The unit remembers the last setting the remote gives it, even after full power down. Keep the LED unit in a ventilated spot (not under the insulation). Took 3 evenings to complete, but worth it. My son loves it.Only problem is that now I have to do the same to my daughter's ceiling. My loft area looks like alien spider web now as the fibres glow throughout. I used the 150 optic kit to make a sky light type window. 60cm x 40cm and it's pretty packed with light. A ceiling would be trickier as the fibres aren't that long for a big project. Installing is a matter of simply drilling 150 holes and pushing the fibres through. The n trim them (someone suggested using nail clippers, that works well). Glue the fibres in place on the back of the board. I tested with a hot glue gun but it melts the fibre. Use a cold glue gun, wood glue or pva is enough to just hold them. I effectively sectioned the panel off and cable tied a bunch of fibres across the board just to keep it neat. Only issue I had was that the remote stopped working quite quickly. I emailed the address in the instruction book and the response was quick, helpful and fixed the problem. Overall it's really good and the service when there was a small issue was good enough to say this is a 5* review

Works as described, produces a fantastic light show at night. The room must be dark to experience the full features. I can recommend it.

Spent a fair few days getting the remote to connect but eventually got it, pretty easy to set up but I spent about an hour marking the fibre optics with a Stanley knife so there were more than just the light on the end and I didn't have to cut them individually, over all good purchase for my sensory room

A great little product. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Great for 'starlight' ceilings. No need to pay over inflated prices for kits that do exactly the same thing. Great price, great product. This kit does not have a 'twinkle' setting though. I have ours switched from a light switch, which in turn turns the stars on and off.

Rubbish working then plugged in again not working, ceiling lights for a cinema room,at Milton Keynes order another one fitted it lasted 2weeks had a phone call from unhappy client,so ordered one from another company every thing okay now cost me a lot of time and money . understand one bad one but not 2 very annoyed.

I have a very narrow attic space so this took me 3 weekends to install. But i finally finished and i couldnt be happier. Id definitely recommend. So then a few months later i bought a second one. So now both my kids have amazing star ceilings when going to sleep. 10/10

Good product just need to know what glue to use to set the optics

I have this since 2021 and after 2 years it was stuck on the green colour. Since it is for my xmas tree I didnt mind. This year I wanted to see how to repair it and make it again switch colours, after not finding anything online, I saw on the pictures Fade3 and fade7 does a pairing, I tried it and it is like new! Although I see many negative feedbacks, for me after 4 years it still works great.
