Coravin Timeless Six Plus Wine Preservation System - By-the-Glass Wine Saver - Wine Aerator, 8 Gas Capsules, 2 Screw Caps, Metal Display Base, Standard Needle, Clearing Tool & Carry Case - Anthracite

My wife purchased the Coravin system for me as a gift- and; to preserve the quality of my wine longer since I am the sole drinker between us. The Coravin system product is exceptional and performs as stated. However, they left out the important safety measures when handling this device. . The use of this product is not as simple as stated on their quick start instruction card. BTW, Instruction cards are written in French- (no English) & they seem to have left out the decorking instructions. I had to go online and find YouTube videos (which they are plenty). A few cautions: Do not attempt to open a bottle on a stone countertop. I tried this and when I went to push the system down onto the bottle it slipped. Lucky it didn’t break. Now, keep in mind- I’m a big guy. Decorking must be performed slowly and with the correct angle of attack- over the top and down. Important to decork on a slip resistant surface or material. Also, beware, of the corking needle. It is extremely sharp- lesson learned- I punctured my finger by reaching underneath inside the system- stupid move on my part. Stay away from the needle until you have to change it out down the road, than follow the directions on efficient changeout on YouTube. Now the positive: I had my first glass of wine from the system and using the Coravin aerator- Bellissimo! However, The real test was to wait 1 week to test the character of my bottle of red after resealing the cork and filled bottle with argon. After 1 week (7 days) and to my surprise the wine was still fresh- no conversion into acetic acid, and was able to detect the notes & overall freshness. It made for a very enjoyable glass of wine. Now, I no longer have to pour out the rest of my good wine after 2 days. Good job Coravin & thanks! Just a suggestion: Please Add the safety sections and instructions in English.

For the first time I'm able to chose a wine to match my dinner and not have to "finish" an open bottle before it goes down the sink. I know longer have to drink that extra glass of wine to finish the bottle before it goes down the sink. I currently have six red and two whites opened and can still open a new bottle if my next meal requires a different wine. I actually left a half a glass of white in the bottle a few nights ago and know i can enjoy it over the next couple of weeks.Having bought expensive bottles of wine, I felt that Coravin was essential to taste a good wine without having to drink it all...The Coravin is so easy to use. Just fit the unit over the bottle, push the needle straight down, which easily penetrates the cork, press the button and pour! Remove by pulling the needle straight up, and then put the bottle back in the rack. You might get a drop coming out of the cork but no more than that. Most of my corks have resealed completely.Was surprised how easy it is to sink the needle through the cork. I've tapped at the same bottle quite a number of times, and it keeps its integrity. From an engineering/beauty standpoint, it's great !What a pleasure to be able to taste good wine without excessive consumption. A good bottle is a glass without any constraint to say to yourself, I am alone and I will have to open a bottle.
