It works perfectly fine with my Steinberg MR816CSX and a thunderbolt hub for my laptop.

Dose what it is ment to do

Only used it for a month but much more reliable for my soundcard then the previous (£60) cable I got at the mac store

I couldn't believe I needed this as well when I purchased the Apple MD464ZM/A Firewire (800) socket 9-pin to Thunderbolt plug Adapter. However, my old external hard drive wouldn't work without it.5 stars for delivery and quality but kick up the bum to Apple for making me need it in the first place. Especially when I'd shelled out around £30 on the thunderbolt adapter already and finding my old external connection was useless without this.N.B. the new iMacs do not have firewire, they use the new Thunderbolt connection (which wasn't mentioned when I purchased the iMac).

Makers of electronic musical instruments use a wide variety of connectors on their units, Focusrite interfaces use Firewire, they haven't yet discovered Thunderbolt, (as on the iMac). This cable combined with the Apple T'bolt to Firewire adaptor does the job elegantly.Highly recommended.

Great Item, fast delivery, what more can I say? I usually kn ow what I am buying before I order it, so I tend to only get a surprise if the service or item is not up to scratch. In this case both were fine!
