Great bit of kit!
Beautiful bit of kit for guitarists and bassists - everything you need measurement-wise in one place. I've never been too precise about measuring action height etc. in the past just relying on 'feel' mostly with the occasional check using an engineer's steel rule if it felt wrong or strings were buzzing. Now I'll be checking the action on my instruments when it comes to restringing and intonation-checking time and this little rule is going to make the task nice and easy. Good value, too at the reduced price!

Good service
This has been bought as a Christmas stocking filler so as yet is unused. Subsequently I can only comment on the following points. Delivery was excellent, it seemed no sooner had the order been placed and it had arrived. It appears to be exactly as described and also seems good. value for money. Lightweight but not flimsy. Of course final test will be once it gets used. Once this happens I will update my review, so far no complaints.

Great product for setting up your Guitar
This is a handy little project and is perfect to help even amateurs setting up their guitars to improve playability. I noticed a few of the reviews were complaining of sharp edges and while I didn't notice any, i did use a piece of sandpaper on the device to ensure this really was the case before putting it near my guitarAll markings on the rule are very clear and easy to read, one think I've noticed is a lot of guides give measures in fractions of an inch, while the rule has both inches and metric, the imperial measurements are in decimal (i.e. 0.1 inch) etc., a conversion chart would be nice although as the rule has both imperial and metric, it doesn't really have much room for this

Not sure the action is set up correctly on your guitar? This card will tell you either way.
I was given a guitar for my birthday. It is not a cheap guitar but it is not an expensive one either. On mass produced guitars like mine, there is plenty of talk online about the guitar needing the height of the strings (the action) to be adjusted (lowered) as it can sometimes be too high. As a user of public transport and not living close to any places that could make the adjustment if it were needed, I wanted to be sure my guitar was properly adjusted at the factory before taking the trip out so I ordered this card. The card is metal so not easy to damage (which is good). It comes with plastic peal off plastic to protect it - it is dark blue this plastic and therefore to see the measurements on the card, it really needs to be pealed off. If it were clear then I would have preferred to have left the plastic on.I only needed to know if the action was in allowable limits though the card has other measurement on it for other guitar related purposes. I did as the instruction slip with the card stated and the outcome was that my guitar is where it should be in regards to its action - and being a Yamaha that doesn't surprise me. I have since put lighter strings on the guitar to make it easier to play (I am a beginner) but this card has given me piece of mind and has saved me a bill for an adjustment I would not have needed. The only thing I would say is that the corners could do with being slightly rounded off but other than that, this card is nicely packaged (coming with its own storage sleeve) and has clear distinguishable measurement markers on it.

Usable but not Great
Its a guitar setup measuring tool. It is “stamped” out of a piece of metal about 0.55mm thick with a brushed finish. The edges bear the marks of being stamped out so are bevelled on one side with a slight burr on the other, this makes the first scale mark difficult to see. The scales are clearly engraved and coloured in black, however the scale units are not consistently marked. The rear of the guage has some general infomation on typical string heights(action) at the 12 fret. I think it is a bit expensive for what it is. It works OK but is not great. In my opinion it needs to be a bit thicker, have machined edges and have the scale units clearly identified.

Does the job nicely. Clearly marked.
OK, So I was a little confused when it first arrived as there was no 'instruction booklet' just a statement saying to check out You-tube for videos relating to guitar set-up. After a bit of googling and you-tubing all became clear. Actually the You-tube videos I watched and the written stuff I Googled were very good and all became clear. The item itself is clearly marked and I was indeed able to use it to set my guitar up. Nice piece of kit. By the way it is covered in a blue cellophane substance which you will need to remove before use.

A very handy piece of kit. Managed to tweak my guitar setup so it played much better. My only reservation is that because the markings are so small they are sometimes hard to see.....however this is not a manufacturing fault, more a consequence of working with small measurements. This is a very good produce and for the price well worth it.

Highly recommended - saved me a load of cash
Excellent piece of kit, very easy to use with clear instructions. I was able to adjust all my basses and save £30 a time just using this, an allen key and watching some youtube videos. Well made, very easy to read and very fast despatch.
