Heat pad has stopped working, very disappointing! Poor value, it lasted just 14 weeks
I received this on 22 December. Looked good, worked well. It stopped working on 31 March. Informed the manufacturer but have had no response so far. I want the item replace but it says the cut-off date for returns is 31 January. Surely it carries a warranty for longer than 14 weeks.

Beurer Comfort Heating Pad - Tiny Electric Blanket
Think small version of a electric blanket (about the size of a lap try) and you are not far from wrong. Husband thought that when he first saw it, as a tiny electric blanket for leprechauns. I do sometimes wonder who I live with.....Whatever he thought if it made my OA feel any better is was worth trying, easy to plug it into the pad and a longish cord (could have done with it being a little longer) but no real issue. Only thing is I can not leave it plugged into the wall socket and just switch the pad to on when wanting to use it so have to bend down and plug it in, annoying when the back flares up but then again it can be moved and used any where there is a plug, so chairs are made more comfortable with this behind your back relaxing any muscle aches or muscle spasms. It does feel nice and soothing on the back, knees and shoulders have tried it on most areas when having a bad flare up and it does not take away the pain if only but helps if only for the soothing effect. Most people will tell you that if in pain you will try virtually anything if you think that it might help if only someway. For me this did and still is, using it when having a read or a sit down when the aches start think the real benefit will be come the winter months when you tend to hunch yourself up more and then feel the muscle spasms more so. Will update in a few months time to say how it is faring. It heats up so quickly and the control switch lights up so you can see even in the dark if on and what setting. After ninety mins it switches itself off, a good job incase you fall asleep with it on. I very nearly fell asleep with it on my knees, only for husband to wake me up and tell me it was still on, yes, he did not know it goes off after ninety mins as a safety cut out method. So pleased with the heating pad but not pleased with other half.So nice and comforting, no messy hot water bottle tops to mess with (fiddly at times especially if suffering from OA in hands). No back and fro to the microwave to heat up a pack for not that long time. Well nothing as long as the heat this seems to keep and can be just warmed up again when needed at a switch of a button. It feels soft and no bulky or anything heavy on it the heaviest part is the control switch and even that no too heavy. Could do with an all over body one come the winter months.

A 'REAL' review of the Product (can only wash 10 times)
A 'REAL' review not a paid 'VINE' review :)I received the item today, bought from Amazon.BAD- Short lead- Can only wash 10 times (manual says)(so no heating up any pongy feet in bed)- Manual says cant cover with a pillow.- HUGE scratchy label on it (see pictures)(could cut it off)- Probably not 100% sure it would be good for medical heating (if you really needed heat)- Pricey compared to a larger single electric blanket is £15GOOD- Feels really nice- Constant heat - not going colder- Timer to stop after 90mins (Manual says you can reset by turn off for 5 secs then back on - not tested)- It is warm and cosy (similar to Microwave hotwater bottles)- Reviews say its better than the ones with covers- UK plug (some don't)- Heats up quick- Feels like a pet on your lap- If it was on constantly 365day (Belkin energy monitor tested) it would cost £75 a year, so very cheap to use- appears portable and easy to chuck under a blanket or bed. (not tested this yet)B and M do a single electric blanket for about £15. more running cost, but hotter, and less mobile, but it put the price of this into perspective as a luxury product. Please consider the Vine reviewers either got paid or received a free one (check wikipedia on this fact). Also all of them fail to mention any of the bad points, like you can only wash the item 10 times or the short lead. I think we can all draw our own conclusions about bias. :)If you found my review useful hit the yes.
