The other half swears by this product. He claims it leaves his skin feeling clean and not greasy. He actually uses it as a body wash daily as well as for his face, as he suffers from break outs over his back and chest. This product helps to keep his skin oil/grease free for longer, which helps reduce spots and also exfoliates his skin keeping the break outs to a minimum. It does stain white shower curtains so make sure you rinse everywhere well when using this product as once it dries it onto something it takes some elbow grease to remove it. Bath tiles & the bathroom suite will also need a good scrub if this stuff is allowed to remain on them & dry. It’s like trying to remove concrete! I have used this myself, but found my skin felt almost powdery after use, despite rinsing well. I’d probably get used to it but to be honest I have my own routine and products which serve me well so I personally wasn’t converted. The other half however now won’t be without it. He actually hasnt used it for a week due to having work done in the house so everything got boxed up & this went in there by accident and he’s already complaining of having breakouts, so this really does make a difference for him. A bottle lasts about 2 weeks in our house with daily use including body washing, so for daily facial use I think it should last closer to 3/4 weeks for most people. The price is reasonable compared to competitors. We have been buying this at around £3/4 a bottle, which is a fairly good price, so we tend to buy several to stock up when we find it at the lower end of the pricing bracket as the price does seem to fluctuate for this product depending on where stocks it.

So flippin' grateful for this product, I'm a teen, I've tried pretty much every face wash/cream under the sun as well as lotions and potions from the doctor so after seeing it on an advert and suffering with acute acne, blemishes and just generally awful skin (I've never ever worn make-up because of it as I've never wanted it to get any worse than it is) I thought I needed to try it. I've been using it daily for just short of 2 weeks now and it's REALLY helped my skin. I've used it in all 3 ways, wash, scrub and mask although with the mask I do tend to put the product on, leave it and then when washing it off with warm water I also scrub the watery product left on my face it into my skin but it works for me so who cares? I tend to use the mask more when it's been hot and I know for a fact it's a race against time to get the built up dirt/oil out of my pores. Personally it dries my skin but in a good way? Like my face feels tighter but there's no dry skin ect, whether this is because I have oily skin so it just works well, I don't know but I like it. The down side to this product is it's so messy when washing off, I always end up with black water marks all over the sink/wall and still end up having some of the product on my finger nails after washing my hands. Will definitely purchase again when I need more, would recommend this to anyone who frequently gets the odd spot or has oily skin.

I like the fact that it has some rough particle that scrubs the face, tho it's not a peel of mask. It leaves your face looking smooth and nice after used. I like it

Wonderful for my sensitive skin

I am late 30's with an oily t zone and blackouts. This is a great product. It's very messy though - it comes out dark grey, almost black and then when on your face and in water turns everything grey so expect splashes of dark grey water in the sink! I've used it as a facewash in the shower - but also then as a mask. My routine is now - switch on shower, rub in face dry - you get good exfoliation then get in shower a few mins later and wash off. My skin is clean and fresh - this is a decent price doesn't break the bank. I was advised products with salicylic acid is better for my skin type as it attacks blackheads.

I used this to get rid of my blackheads, however it doesnt do the job, it just cleans your face and makes it shiny, I used the product for 3 weeks and didn't see a difference, I feel bad giving Garnier a bad review as I love their brand, however this just didn't work for me.

I’ve used this for years and it’s brilliant, I wouldn’t buy anything else now. The first face wash that keeps my skin fresh but not dry and put a complete stop to spots and blemishes. I just don’t get them anymore! I assume this must be the salicylic acid doing its job. It can also be used as a face mask if desired. Its black in colour and this helps to ensure you apply it everywhere and rinse it all off. Price wise you can pay a LOT more for products that don't work as well and it lasts at least a month with daily use. Can only recommend!

Invigorating but can be messy! I love this product. I have very combination skin. Dry all year round but with little outbreaks of greasy/oily skin in spring, summer & autumn. I don’t tend to suffer from blackheads at all but find this product helps keep my skin smooth & outbreak free when using it as a daily facial wash in the shower. Now the messy part! You can only wash it off your face with warm water & when you do it can coat the sink or shower with the residue in places. This then needs a good spraying with warm water to get rid of. This doesn’t happen all the time but it does happen. This would not stop me from using it though. I have to say, I have never tried the product as a mask, but will do eventually. All in all it’s great at cleaning problem prone skin.
