Silverline Oil Drain Pan 6Ltr (675089)

Found this very sturdy for the price. It is wide and catches all the drips. I previously had a Jerry can style oil drain pan. The bonus here is you can check for chippings easily and if you drop the oil plug into the pan you can retrieve it. On a Jerry can oil pan it is more difficult for both. The down side is you have to have a funnel to move the oil to a bottle for disposal. Apart from that it’s a good item.

Admittedly I agree with many of the comments of the other reviews here. Oil pans of today are no longer just buckets anymore. They have splash guards and easy pour spouts for recycling. On first inspection, it is obvious that this oil pan has none of those features. It is a simple plastic bucket. Therefore it is no surprise that people have the complaints they do. I'm really surprised people expected otherwise! What this pan does do well is general small capacity fluids, that is, scooters, motorcycles and things of that nature. I would never think of using this on a car! It is small, lightweight and cleans easily without costing a bundle.

A very good tool for the job, not to high that it will not fit under a car, it has a 6L capacity so will take an oil change from most vechicles, and if people cant see from the picture that you wont be able to pour oil into a small necked bottle then they are very stupid, when pouring used oil into say an old oil can then a funnel is needed but it is very sturdy and has little flex when picking up and moving, very happy.

What can you say about an oil pan, perfect size for my car and bike, solid enough, does the job.

Decent bowl, has the lip for pouring the oil out into a container. However, it does flex a lot and, although it takes 6 litres or so, it is difficult not spill liquids over 4 litres or so. I have now bought a sealed/jerry can style drain pan for £13.00, here on Amazon; which is far superior. It takes 20 litres, so last multiple oil changes and can be sealed and stored until I take it to be disposed. I still use this as a secondary pan to catch drips/leaks.

Good quality and price, it does the job required

I bought this oil drain pan in order to ease the servicing of my wife’s car in our small single garage. This garage is too tight to easily get round the sides of the car, so I’m delighted that this pan can slide under the car without having to put the car on axle stands. Luckily, I can get my hand in between the pan and the sump in order to remove the drain plug, and drain the oil fully. The capacity of the pan itself is sufficient to hold the full charge of oil, and the spout makes is easy to pour the old oil into a suitable container for appropriate disposal.
