I got this for its colour as I already have a black plastic shaving bowl. This one is quite thick plastic which means it should bounce well if it is dropped (I haven't tested that theory myself). There are small ribs inside which serve the dual purpose of agitating the brush bristles when lathering and stopping the shaving soap tub (the Proraso 150ml size) from getting stuck in the bowl as they are made to fit inside it. The handle is fairly large so gives a nice grip in the hand. While this bowl looks a little expensive, it will last for years and always look the part - if that's a concern for you! Incidentally the Proraso menthol eucalyptus soap comes in a tub which is the exact same shade of green as this bowl.

Lovely to have a proper old fashioned mug to make my lather in. Enough easily for four passes with my lovely Proraso shaving cream.

I use Proraso regularly and jumped at this when I seen it. Over the years I have had a few clay / pottery made shaving bowls and they are great but inevitably sooner or later they get dropped or fall off the shelf and shatter. This is made from plastic and will last for a very long time, its light and flexible enough that it won't shatter or crack but stiff enough that it is solid and does not bend when using. There are little fins at the bottom to grip a mug soap and the inside is not grooved or rough. Some guys like a texture or groove for making lather but its not really needed, I can lather with a cream in my hand or a ordinary drinking glass when on holiday so although this is smooth plastic inside it works perfectly fine for making shaving lather. I'm sure you can buy a plastic cup from the pound shop but I like the handle and that this is a branded Proraso mug. I shave two or three hundred times a year so a few quid for a little bit of luxury in the morning is worth it to me.

This fits all my shaving accessories into one mug, and allows me to not only carry it around to and from the bathroom, but it is deep enough to allow for me to soak my brush, and obviously it is engineering so well for lathering that this has beyond exceeded my expectations! I am in love with this! Also, because of it's plastic material, it won't damage your chrome razor or leave any scratches (as I put all my accessories in it when carrying it around), so I am deliberately selling my expensive shave bowl just so I can use this - it is the perfect bowl for me, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do :) God bless, and have a great shave everyone, embrace your hobby :)

After buying a Suribachi pestle to use as a shave bowl it occured to me as the sides are slippery I could drop it and break it. So iI watched reviews on this product online, bizzarely there are very few reviews available. I bought it anyway and it's a good product, providing you know what you're doing, the soap or cream you use (I use both Proraso soap and tube cream) you obtain a smooth and durable lather in no time thanks to the paddles on the bottom sides. The handle on the side makes it safe to handle and considering it's made of tough plastic I can drop this without having to worry about breaking it. Rinse it with warm ater and let dry or dry it yourself, worth every penny.

I thought the product was ceramic and was disappointed to discover on opening it was plastic. It looks ok and works as expected. I would say it’s expensive for a plastic product

Fatto bene. Il fondo stretto non permette di montare il sapone, a meno che non ci incastrate un panetto solido. Ottimo per ammollare i pennelli.

Chouette ustensile, permet d'avoir une jolie mousse, bien épaisse et aérée grâce aux petites barres à l'intérieur; et facile à appliquer, en utilisant moins de savon, super ! Même si le bol ne ressemble à rien, c'est très utile, et pas cher !
