Easy Reader Women's 25 mm Leather Strap Date Window Watch

I ordered this last night and it’s on my wrist 18 hours later. My old watch broke and I needed a replacement that’s small yet easy to read and functional for everyday use. This fits the bill - it’s rather cute especially with the light for night time reading. Came new in presentation box with plastic covering over face. I read all the reviews and wasn’t put off by all the moaning about the strap - glad I didn’t take any notice as the strap is just fine. I have a small wrist and it fits perfectly and any excess can be tucked into the 2 cuffs on the strap. Yes the leather is slightly hard but no more than you’d expect in any new strap and it will soften with wear. Straps are easy and very cheap to replace - it’s all about the time piece and Timex are renowned for their accuracy. Can’t comment on battery life yet. I’m really pleased with my new watch and it was a bargain at this price (£32)

Very pleased with my watch. I have an iwatch and expensive dress watches but I wanted a Timex, similar to my very first watch in 1970, that was inexpensive for holidays. You hear so much about pick pockets in Europe. I love the watch! The backlight is great. I wear it at night at home too and the light stops me picking up my phone to see the time.

Bought this to replace one like this -except the one I had before didn't have the date. And honestly as other reviews have said the date is so small it is more or less useless - I would just get the one without the date in future. But the watch itself is great - really easy to read etc -the light up function is useful, a really practical watch and I am hoping it lasts as well as the one it replaced, which I'd had for about 10 yrs. I wear a watch all the time - I sleep, swim, go to the beach, shower, do housework and DIY in one - when I am not wearing one I realise how often I glance at my bare wrist (I have ADHD and I think it is a habit I have developed to not lose track of time). My previous one had several replacement batteries and straps but the watch itself was fine - barely scratched etc...and like I said it gets some abuse - think being on an arm scrabbling around under floorboards etc...or lifting bricks...etc. I used to have to replace watches every 3 or 4 yrs before I bought it. I had the battery and strap replaced at a local market stall - so it wasn't expensive (less than a £5). I recently replaced the leather strap with a plastic one (swatch like) as the biggest problem I had was the straps breaking...I think from constantly getting wet etc - every year or so. The only 'problem' with it was why I needed a new one ...it needed a new battery - and like I said I am lost without a watch. I couldn't get to the market for a new battery for a week or so, I used to borrow my daughter's watch but she has lost it - so I decided it would be quicker to replace the battery myself. The back was a nightmare to get off but even worse I couldn't get it back on - I ended up with a cloth and pliers and cracked the glass....water could get in, it started misting up and then started stopping.... I found online there are ways of putting the back on using bottle tops etc - but I would suggest you get the battery replaced somewhere professionally....

I just wanted a simple wrist watch to tell the time, with a clear, easy to read face. This watch was perfect for me, Nothing fancy and a reasonable price, I use the night light feature a lot! The watch arrived quickly and was well packaged.

Bought for mum in her 80s looking for a clear face but not too large. She is really happy with it and likes the nightlight too. Strap was stiff initially by soon softened up. Only been in used for two months but all good so far.

Bought in jan.2016 for wife she really likes itand is still wearing today dec 2025. Clear dial and backlight to see in dark or dull conditions.

Got this as a gift for my wife. She has 2-3 other watches, all more on the expensive side. She doesn't wear them only on special occasions therefor she doesn't wear a watch on a daily basis and I would've thought it would be nice having one you can wear everyday and not have to worry about something happening to it. I was aiming to find one that is: simple, practical, elegant, fashionable, dependable and from a reputable company and not expensive. I was willing to pay up to 3 times the price of this for all of those qualities. With that in mind, this covers all those qualities. It is nice a small for a female wrist, very elegant and it will work with anything you wear. The numbers are easy to read therefore making the time easy to read making it a practical good for everyday use watch! She was very happy with this and has been wearing it everyday and even forgetting to take it off at night, which makes me in return very happy for finding this watch and at this amazing price. A few of her friends have inquired about where she got it and they would be interested in getting the same or something similar! Thank you!

UPDATE: I posted the faulty watch off and Timex sent a replacement almost by return of post. To date it is still working beautifully, and daughter is delighted. Reading other reviews, the date and night-light functions appear to be weak points, so I am half-expecting to have to post this one back again at some point assuming it fails within its warrantee period (which is now unclear, as this is a replacement product and came without paperwork). I would still say that this is a good watch for the money: it's a handsome and classic ladies' watch that isn't too fussy. I would advise buyers to keep track of the date of purchase and to make use of the Timex return warrantee (see the Timex website for return forms -- you don't actually have to keep the paperwork, it can be printed out from the Timex website and sent along with a print-out of your original Amazon invoice). ORIGINAL REVIEW: Bought as a Christmas present for my 12 year old daughter, she was initially delighted with this watch: it has a lovely clear face, the night light worked beautifully, the leather strap was attractive and the date function gave it a grown-up look. For the first six months all was well, then about 7 months in the light stopped working. A few weeks later the date stopped working. We have had the battery checked by a watch shop who confirmed that the battery was fine but that the watch was faulty and should be returned to Timex under warrantee. We're posting it off with proof of purchase, and I'm hoping that it will either be well repaired or that the replacement will prove more reliable. Daughter was very sad that her well-looked after "proper" grown-up watch didn't stay the course for more than a few months. I'll update this review as and when the repaired/replaced watch returns.
