compact and powerful subwoofer
The Sonos Sub Mini is a compact and powerful subwoofer designed for small to mid-sized rooms, delivering the signature deep, room-filling bass that Sonos is known for, but in a more accessible and affordable package than the larger Sonos Sub. Design The Sub Mini has a sleek, minimalist cylindrical design that complements other Sonos speakers and fits well into modern home setups. Available in matte black or white, it’s compact enough to be discreet, yet stylish enough to stand out as part of your audio system. The compact design is ideal for smaller spaces, where the larger Sonos Sub might feel excessive. Sound Quality Despite its smaller size, the Sub Mini delivers impressive bass depth and clarity, thanks to its dual 6-inch force-canceling woofers. These woofers are placed face-to-face to eliminate unwanted vibrations, so you get clean, thumping bass without any distortion. The Sub Mini is specifically designed to enhance the low end of Sonos soundbars like the Sonos Ray or Beam (Gen 2), or Sonos speakers, by taking on the bass frequencies and letting the main speakers focus on mids and highs, resulting in a balanced, immersive listening experience. It’s excellent for movie soundtracks, gaming, and music genres that demand deep bass. Setup & Integration Setting up the Sub Mini is a breeze via the Sonos app, which automatically calibrates the subwoofer to your room’s acoustics. It connects wirelessly to other Sonos devices, making it simple to add to an existing setup without needing to fuss with cables. The Trueplay feature, available on iOS, fine-tunes the sound based on your room’s acoustics, optimizing the bass for any layout. Performance The Sub Mini performs best in smaller or mid-sized rooms, where it can produce a full-bodied bass response that doesn’t overpower the other frequencies. While it doesn’t have the same thunderous impact as the larger Sonos Sub, it still significantly enhances the low end in a way that’s noticeable and enjoyable. For users in larger spaces or those who crave wall-shaking bass, the standard Sonos Sub may be a better choice. Overall Verdict The Sonos Sub Mini is a solid addition to the Sonos ecosystem, offering rich, deep bass in a compact form factor. It’s perfect for users with small to medium rooms who want to elevate their audio experience without investing in the larger (and pricier) Sonos Sub. Ideal for enhancing the Sonos Beam or Ray, the Sub Mini brings impressive bass in a thoughtfully designed, easy-to-integrate package that’s both accessible and powerful for the size.

Perfect for MOST Sonos setups! Wish I’d bought it earlier!
Fantastic unit and I really didn't appreciate how much of a difference the Sub Mini would make with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2). I’m no audiophile but the bass is full, deep and fills a large room (approx 24’x17’). Ive not even turned the bass up and it’s perfect. Adds real depth to movies, music, tv and lets the Beam focus on the trebles. The set up is easy and I’m still to move it to another room and pair with my old Sonos One’s to see what that sounds like. I would recommend this unit and find it hard to imagine what most of us would need the bigger sub for.

Great Value, Tremendous Quality
I have the main bass unit from Sonos for my tv and dvd set up. I wanted a separate system for my cd and radio set up - something I could switch on and off quickly without having to go into the app. So I have two Play 1’s and this mini bass. It’s perfect! It’s a medium sized room and fills the space with bass effortlessly. Setting up was a breeze although it’s the first time I’d tapped the top with my phone as part of the registration process, using the same near-field technology that our credit cards use when tapping terminals with the phone. I didn’t quite believe it had worked as a second or two delay occurred (I have a v old iphone). Since buying the Sonos Boost, all of my Sonos products have linked together and appeared in the Sonos app seemlessly so I mention this to anyone still struggling. The Boost sets up a separate wi-fi circuit for the exclusive use of Sonos stuff and it too works perfectly. Back to the Bass - this is one of the few Sonos products I’d describe as value for money as well as being of the same quality as everything else. You don’t buy Sonos for bargains, but it’s worth mentioning as this unit give the Play 1’s real body and is worth every penny.

Good option for extra bass in a small room
Bigger than you think it’s going to be considering it’s a sub “mini” but very easy to set up and was the last piece of my Sonos surround sound set up. I love how it all works off the WiFi with no cables around the room (except for the power cables to plug the speakers in). Definitely adds some heft to the low end where you feel that rumble in explosions in movies. None of this stuff is cheap but, if you buy at the right time, you can save yourself a lot of money. You can also build it gradually as the speakers all work independently. I started out with the soundbar on its own which really boosted the sound and then bought the rears 12 months later which gave me that surround sound experience and now the sub mini for extra bass. All Sonos stuff is packaged really nicely and looks good. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking to add bass to your Sonos system.

Adding a Sonos mini Sub bass.
Great addition to a two play 3s system. The bass sounds much deeper and this frees up sound of the other speakers. Easy to set up and was playing within 10 minutes of unpacking.

Arc Ultra really benefits from this
Matched this to my Arc Ultra. Excellent addition and takes the experience up several levels without dominating or overwhelming with boominess...Love it.

Tried to integrate with my pair of Era 100, cannot get solid sound, especially for bluetooth connection. Bass is not even across the frequency range, some higher bass is loud, a bit lower frequencies are quiet. I think it’s design problem but it could be compensated by sound processing, however, I can’t expect this from Sonos nowadays, good software is not about Sonos anymore. Their new mobile application is total fail and it’s still not recovered! Instead of buying this subwoofer I’d suggest to get rid of Sonos completely.

Was excited to take delivery of this product but was defective and would not connect at all. If you are familiar with Sonos system then you will know how much effort it takes to reset them if you change WiFi settings. In the case of this particular product it would not connect to the network at all. After speaking to Sonos customer support online and going through the troubleshooting steps the product was confirmed defective. Very disappointing as the Sonos system to connect is not user friendly. Amazon will not issue a replacement but a refund with shipping that I have to arrange. All in all a bad experience for a product that I was very excited about.
