Second purchase after 2 years: happily returned to this product
Update Nov 2020:I used the first one with my Jeep Patriot for 2 years, until the car got totaled. Upgraded to a 2019 5th gen 4runner, purchased the same size which has gone up in last 2 years. Here’s the addition to the review on the second one:The elastics on the doors feel more durable. Other straps are not elastic, so even sturdier to secure the cover in high wind. The mirror covers came with fluorescent tapes like I suggested in my first review! It fits the 5th gen 4runner, but the sides are a tad shorter than what can cover the windows completely. So I have about half an inch showing on the windows (see pics). It is still possible to open the doors without taking the cover completely off.I would have made a big deal out of the shorter skirt length, but knowing this is the only option out here for half car cover designs, and how great the utility is, I am going use it. It has become indispensable on my car camping trips. I put it on my car at night for privacy and insulation. I wish the seller made a camping version with awning on one side!Old review: Oct 2018: I work as an on site geologist in West Texas. So I am always on the run with my life packed up in the car. I try to keep the car clean and cool, as much as possible in the dusty, harsh desert weather. This cover fits my needs pretty well.Pros: easy to put on, take down even in windy conditions. Folds fairly compact to just throw in the back of the car. Keeps the car more cool than standards reflectors (it covers the whole roof). Keeps some dust off the vehicle, though not all. You can access the doors, even without taking the whole cover down.Cons: The tie strings could be stronger. I might have to replace them soon, considering how much the wind picks up here. The strings are only elastic, doesn't have an adjustable strap to tie them down harder if you need to. I wish it came with a compression sack (the kind of bag a sleeping bag comes with) to pack it more compact.Tips for users: put a fluorescent sticker on one of the mirror bags. That way you know where to start. After putting on the mirror bag on one side, walk to the other side, put on the second mirror bag (this way the cover is secured from wind) and walk towards the back as you fold out the cover over the roof. After putting it on, pull out the wipers and put the front end of the cover under the wipers, to keep them secure in wind.

Leaking Sunroof Problem Solved!
The built-in drains for the sunroof of our 2004 BMW X-3 were clogged to the point that every time it rained, water would back up and overflow into the floor and rear wells. One of the rear doors also leaked into the interior as water ran down the window and into the door. Our attempts to clean the drains and tubing were not effective enough, and we weren't ready to go to the trouble of taking the door apart and re-waterproofing it, so we bought this half car cover to keep the water out once and for all. It has successfully withstood several torrential Florida summer downpours and our vehicle now remains dry inside. Even though it is a half size, it hangs down long enough to cover the window of the door that was leaking to the inside. The woven straps are strong and easy to feed through the hubcaps and tie securely. The elastic straps on the sides mid-way feed through the door handles and the ends clip together with a strong heavy-duty plastic clasp. For our BMW X-3, I have to wind the elastic straps through the door handles twice each to make them tight enough the keep the cover from blowing up in gusts of wind. The outside layer of the cover is indeed waterproof and an attractive reflective textured micro pattern. The underside is a soft cotton fabric that will not scratch your car's paint. It is lightweight and easy to put on the vehicle. It comes with a generously sized storage bag with a drawstring cord, and all comes nicely folded in a zippered case. A good value for the price, and I would recommend.

Good cover, needs grommets
I like this cover. I like that it only covers the top half of the vehicle. I bought this because I have a sunroof leak. This cover is keeping my car dry inside until I can get it repaired. It seems sturdy and has held up to the substantial wind we've had. The only thing I'm not pleased with are the straps. They get wet and make it take longer to put on and take off. I decided to cut off the front and rear straps (the ones for the doors are fine) and install grommets at the 4 corners. Now we just use bungee cords to attach the cover to the car. Easy on, easy off and fits much tighter now. So order yourself a grommet kit (they are super easy to do), buy some bungees and save yourself the strap headache. Other than that, I would recommend this product and would purchase again.

Lightweight Cover With Some Drawbacks
I sometimes park on my driveway but the crepe myrtle trees along my driveway wrap (insects actually) and drop blooms that stick after a rain. Also, leaves get all over the car. I needed a solution for this and the Texas heat.I have a full size car cover but it's so cumbersome for me at 5ft tall trying to cover a 7 passenger SUV (Ford Explorer Sport). I decided on this lightweight half cover. The fabric is thin, but I still think it is a good buy if you're careful with the straps or reinforce the area where they attach.Pros: It's very lightweight and covers roof and area at the base of the windshield where leaves and debris would gather. It's also reflective to help keep your vehicle cooler. It's easy and fast to install. Cons: The fabric is pretty flimsy. Strong winds or pulling too hard on the straps will cause tears at the connection point of the strap to the fabric. They should have made those areas reinforced with thicker fabric. Also the straps that connect to the tires are not elastic but the straps that go through the door handles are. If the other straps were elastic, it might help with tearing bc of having some "play" in windy conditions.
