job done
I washed my hair and braided it in sections days before use to make it easier to part because I have thick hair. So I gave it five stars because it was delivered on time, it described as pictured, and the temp control is one of the better features. I opened package plugged it in about 3 min it was hot, it came set to 500, and I left it on that. I section a part and combed it from end to root(about 3 pulls) and it straightened it out without breaking hair and burning scalp. The only way I see you could burn or feel heat is if you leave it close to you, and with the temp control you can lower it to whatever degree your comfortable with. The root attachment works great especially since i cant see in the back and have to do my own hair, yeahhh no neck burns. It is built from hard case plastic so try not to drop and the handle is not heavy but sturdy with lever. It does move around if lever is not down when not in use. The cord does swivel but with practice you will appreciate that feature especially if your right handed and need to do the left side with right hand.

made cheap
I have only used this hot comb maybe a dozen times and it already stopped working....smh...You can tell how light wieght that it is that it is made very cheaply and is not durable. I have natural hair and when it was working it did a good job straighting my hair though.

Working well - keeps temp great
This iron heats up to the desired temp and keeps it well. But, do not expect it to happen instantly. It takes about 3-5 minutes for it to reach the programmed temp. I tried the edging comb but it is not working for me. The attachment keeps popping off. The comb tines are close enough together that I don't need it anyway. That is another point. If you think you are going to take a large section of hair and press it right the first time, think again. My hair is thick so I know to do 1 inch sections but at times I try to go thrugh a little more and that combs tines are just too close to allow this without pulling your hair out. I have no problems with my thumb placement changing the temp either. My thumb rests on the temp window and not on the sides where the dial is. I gave this one a four stars because my old comb heated up in 60 secs to full temp and the tines were farther apart to account for thicker sections.

Just okay.
The light weight of this makes it feel very cheap compared to traditional hot combs. It does an okay job. I wouldn't buy again.

It broke during my first use
The comb broke the first time I used it which just happened to be outside the return window. Because of the swiveling plug it just kept moving uncontrollably. I couldn't keep the bottom, where the plug is, straight. I started hearing popping sounds and then there was a burnt rubber smell. Since then, it won't heat up anymore. So long story short, the swivel is actually a disadvantage because it messes with some wiring or something in there that ruins the heating mechanism.

Love it!!!
I have recently started going to college last year so I couldn't use a stove hot comb. Wondering if I would get the same results, I brought this hot comb and I have to say it works just as well as the stove hot comb!! There are temperatures you can chose from and I usually put mines on 450. I am African American with thick hair and I usually blow-dry my hair, hot comb, and then flat iron. Unfortunately my blowdryer broke a few weeks ago, I was disappointed and worried if I would get the same results. I put my hair in braids and let it air dry and then I went over my hair with the comb section by section and got the same results!! My hair was shiny and my roots were straight with no kinks. This definitely is a good electric hot comb and worth the cost and saved me a step in my wash day routine!

Amazing...
I have natural, 4c, thick, coarse hair. While there is an "anti heat" movement in the natural hair community, I use heat frequently on my hair which is healthy and flourishing. In fact, without heat my hair has single strand knots, tangles, and breaks badly. I digress... on to the review.W/ Amazon Prime .. 2 day shipping.Packaging ... standard clam shellHeats up super quick...Goes up to 500 degrees if you need that bone straight look. I use it on 400 degrees myself.Leaves my hair soft with no burning or no sizzling of my hair. The absolute best part is the guard!!! No fear of scalp burning of the "oh thats just steam" routine. To all the mothers who press your little girls hair, I am telling you as the embodiment of that little girl all grown up, get this comb and use the guard! Your daughter will thank you.

DONT BUY
This press comb is very cheap in every way. I had to tape down the hot dial to use it because dials kept moving. Im african american and my hair is coarse. The teeth on this press comb is close together and doesnt press my hair out like it should. I wasted my money on this product. My mistake I should of stuck with the press comb that I know will work.
