Perfect in Every Way
EXACTLY what I was looking for in a tripod head. I was in the market for a reliable replacement head after an old head failed me. I mainly use my tripod for aviation night shoots with long exposures, so a tight ball was a requirement.Fits the bill perfectly. Design is really thought out, with a spirit level allowing easy levelling. Arca Swiss plate being included is also very nice. Ball is tight and easily lockable. Definitely isn't going anywhere.Perfect for photographers looking for a heavy capable, reliable rig that can also guarantee no movement for long exposures.

Great
Awesome ball head for the price.Got this for a gun actually and I'm very surprised at how smooth and positive all the connections are, easy to use and decent quality all around for the price. My set up weighs in at around 7kg with scope bipod and forend weights not perfectly centered on the arca either (yet) so the leverage to the rear is noticeable but the ball head has no trouble clamping up and holding even at minimal twist on the clamp handle. Can see it holding most camera rigs with ease if used right. If I needed another I would definitely buy again.

Good ball head, let down a little by ball head column length
I bought this to replace a Manfrotto ball head that I had been using for close to 10 years, nothing wrong with the ball head, just I wanted to switch to Arca Swiss plates, as well as having the rotating base for panoramic shots. This ball head is well built and attached to my tripod with no issues.Range of movement is overall good, however due to the shortness of the central "column" it is not very easy to have your camera in landscape orientation and then rotate the ball head so that the camera is vertical. This is mainly due to the dials on the ball head, they get in the way, making having the ball head column horizontal tricky. This isn't an issue if you have a L bracket on your camera, however it is something to note otherwise. I have two camera bodies, one with an L bracket, the other just using the base plate from this ball head.In real world use the ball head is nice to use, if slightly cramped, having 3 dials on it I am still choosing the wrong one by feel, but that will just take getting used to and muscle memory.I used it for 2 weeks in Iceland in all sorts of weather (generally gales, rainy and overcast) and it held up well. It took the weight of a D800 and Tamron 15-30mm with no issue, and that lens is close to 1kg. I also used it with a 100-400mm Tamron and no issues there either with drift or slip when locked.Photos added, excuse the quality, taking phone photos with gloves on in windy dark conditions never helps! (If you are wondering, I have the ball head on a tripod levelling base).Overall, good value for money, it's quite surprising how compact it is, and the quality you get at this price point, 10 years ago you'd not get this for less than £100. For best use I recommend an L bracket to avoid this issue I had.
