The trial - kafka
Kafka s trial is an excellent masterblend though first time reading I found it bit difficult but it was a classis read. The end had me off because k died in the end without specifying the crime he did. Kafka keeps readers thinking about it's possibilities and the end. The quality of book id good in this price so worth it .

The absurdity of life
K one day wakes up and finds himself accused of a crime whose nature is unknown, he is supposed to attend the trials, at first he takes them lightly and things are okay but as he starts to take it seriously and gets the help of lawyer and other people who are somehow linked to court things starts to heave on him.The trial seems to be releflecting absurdity of life as Kafkas novel often has that theme. No matter what you do, you cannot change the course of your life. The book has various things that need to be looked at and which reflect far greater meaningLike the doorman story.Go for it not because you want to add yourself to cool Kafka reader gang or to add another book into your tbr but to actually read it sit with it and think it through.

Confused me
I am not much of a reader, but do try to keep informed on the classics. Bought this on a whim after I saw the characters of a TV show admiring this book.To be very honest, it bored me out of my wits. The protagonist (Joseph K) is the subject of an unorthodox trial. We are not told what his crime is or who the convicting party is, although it is clear they are a government branch. What bothers me is the fact that K himself does not know what his crime is but he resigns to the trial and tries to defend himself against the unknown charges (what?). I get it is a poke on the way totalitarian governments run their legal systems but still....Frankly, I am no literary expert and I am sure I am missing something. Looked all over the web to find what it was that I was missing but no, there is no secret that explains whatever is going on here.It is supposed to be a must for literary classic buffs, so if you are one of those, maybe you will enjoy it.Franz Kafka left this book unfinished. Before his death in 1924, his wish was that this, and another manuscript, be destroyed. But they ended up being published anyway. So someone put the finishing touches before the publication. If I had enjoyed it, probably would have looked up who did it, but nah!The physical quality of the book is excellent. Gold lettered on the hard-cover and excellent binding. Wilco is an old hand at publishing and they produce good quality books, so that shouldn't be a bother. I may have been too stupid to appreciate this classic, but if, God willing, I do one day, the book is beautiful and will look pretty sitting on my shelf until then.
