Q: I ordered mine from amazon warehouse as used. i received everything except instructions. how do you build these? i didn't go to college. :(

No need to have a college degree to assemble these pinwheels! I have a college degree, and had to wrack my brain on how to assemble these! Your pinwheel kit has 5 pieces: pink straw for pinwheel handle, pinwheel cutout, yellow stem to insert into pink straw, small "flowerette" to place atop of assembled pinwheel pieces, and a red cap. Step 1: insert 1" thick end of yellow stem into pink straw, Step 2 insert center hole of pinwheel count out onto the longer/thinner part of the yellow stem, Step 3 Select one color of pinwheel section (at the end with the hole) and slot that hole over the yellow stem. Repeat this step for one color and then do the same for the other color. Step 4 take "flowerette" and slot over the yellow stem, Step 5 add red cap. Hope this helps!!

Q: Would writing show up if written on with a sharpie type marker?

The material is kind of like a heavy craft foil so I think it would however, there isn’t a lot of space to do so. I guess it depends on what you are writing. You might have to let the sharpie dry well since the material is shiny so it doesn’t smudge.

Q: Is the stick solid or hollow?

It's hollow. It's like a sturdy straw.
