Over 10 Years of Consistent Use — Still My Go-To Shampoo
I rarely write reviews, but after using Alpecin C1 for over a decade, I felt it deserved one. I first started using this shampoo more than 10 years ago when I was looking for something to help with thinning hair and scalp health. Since then, it’s been the only shampoo I consistently stick with. What I’ve noticed over the years is that my hair feels stronger and looks fuller when I use it regularly. The refreshing, slightly tingling sensation after each wash is something I actually look forward to — it feels like it’s really waking up my scalp.Another reason I’ve kept using it is that it doesn’t leave any residue and it rinses out clean. Even when I try other shampoos out of curiosity, I always end up coming back to Alpecin C1. It’s just that reliable. If you’re looking for a long-term shampoo that helps keep your hair in good condition, especially if you're concerned about thinning, I can confidently recommend this one. It’s been a solid part of my routine for more than 10 years — and I don’t plan on changing that anytime soon.

Nice smell and tingling on your head!!
I would say that having used this product for 2 weeks now I like the smell and the tingling it leaves on your hair and head. I would most certainly purchase it again. I would like to continue to see how this helps my hair and growth.

I think this stuff works. I'm seeing a difference.
Started using this a month ago. Already noticing fuller looking hair but I'm also using three other new products so I can't exactly tell who's responsible. It smells good and not that strong. The person who wrote that novel of a review about it smelling like Axe body spray needs a better hobby.

It's hard to see a difference, but it could be working
it's really hard to say how well it actually improves thickness, mainly because I keep my hair pretty short. But it works fine as a shampoo, and might make other people's hair noticeably thicker.

Does *not* smell like coffee
I understand that this product is *clearly* aimed at men, however, in the same way that Axe Body Spray is the stereotypical teenage boy scent, this shampoo is the stereotypical smelly, old-man scent. I was hopeful that it smelled slightly of coffee, but no.Imagine if the smells of Zest and Irish Springs were dialed up to 11 and then they had a baby. This shampoo would be their love child. It’s baaad! We’re talking eye-watering, headache-inducing strong. It doesn’t dissipate after drying, either. I honestly can’t tell if it simmers down slightly or if it just kills off some of the scent receptors in my nose and I get slightly used to it. That being said, I can still smell it strongly, it just doesn’t make my eyes water after it dries. I have also gone several days without re-washing my hair with it and it STILL smells just as strongly! It never seems to go away!If they had this in a different, not necessarily “womanly” scent (one without a pink tax associated with it), and it wasn’t so bold (or obviously “manly”) that it felt like a punch to the olfactory system, I’d definitely try it out! As it currently stands, it’s a very unpleasant experience to use. It’s still too early to say whether or not it’s doing anything for my hair, and I might abandon using it altogether due to the overwhelming smell and never find out. 🫤 Oof!I will say that I am currently looking for other caffeine shampoos to try out. The good news is that I think I could probably squeeze some onto a sponge and hang it around trees or shrubs or the garden fence and keep deer/pests away. I bet it would work better than a bar of Irish Springs!! 😂
